How Italy, Germany and France were created

In the 8th Century there was a King named Louis. Now, there were a series of total eclipses of the Sun, shortly after which Louis' father died. Louis was now convinced that the elipses had caused his fathers death, so the next time there was an eclipse, Louis thought it was the finger of God pointing at him and condemning him to death. So convinced was he, that he drove himself to utter terror and died of shock. His three sons got a piece of land each, and created the three countries we now know as Italy, Germany and France.

There was an eclipse today. From Madrid you could see it all, and we here in England would have been able to see it too, if it weren't for our traditional grey clouded sky ;)
