In need of some guidance

Hello. I just joined this community. I had a friend help me with the layout code I liked and I just change up the background when I get bored with it. The background I chose this time looks great (to me) but there's a bit of a problem. The text is rather hard to read...no matter what color text I use. How can I make it so that it's slightly opague behind the writing...and do I have to change the style in order to do this. I'm currently using generator. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
