oh happy day
I put in an application at a new complex today that's owned by the same people as the one I already live in. This means I can transfer my lease in 30 days and get the fuck outta the ghetto. Or at least, get a little less ghetto. I'm going to let this month overlap, so I should be moving as soon as I'm approved! If it ends up being too ghetto, I'll move to a luxury apartment in 6 months, but until then I won't have to put up with anymore roaches! Yay!! It's on the first floor, which is kind of scary. I've always lived on the 2nd/3rd floor. I don't like people above me making noise! that's my job! but i want a piano, so this way as soon as i get one, i can just roll it right in without having to worry about stairs bumping it out of tune.
i went and looked at a piano yesterday by deerbrook mall, and this ignorant woman told me "all the keys work they just need to be tuned!" last i checked, if a key works, it makes noise. there were at least 20 keys that needed to be restrung, and most were bass strings (the most expensive ones). so i drove all the way to 59 and 1960 for absolutely nothing. i told her flat out "there are at least 20 strings that do not work and need to be replaced." I understand she "doesn't know anything about pianos" but if there's NO sound when you push the key, it doesn't work.
Oh, and everybody should go early vote or something. there's a location right outside my window, and it appears quite a few people are doing their civic duty today.
