subject lines are overrated

Just posting cause it has been a few days. Feeling random so thought I would post a few of the things on my mind before they start backing up.

Fandomness:

- Lost was awesome last night. In the randomness in my mind I'm not really ready to process it all, but then again I will probably be watching it again tonight since Ben was working last night. But I was very pleased to say the least. But then again, I always am pleased with Lost. Sure I get frustrated with the characters now and again but across the board still IMO the best show on the air.

- I wrote a few comments about this weeks episode of Veronica Mars, There's Got to be a Morning After Pill over at W-I. If you want to check it out read Jeff's (j_mac179) review above mine since we had a 90 minute telephone conference about all things fandom after the episode aired and when that happens we hardly ever walk away with opposing opinion at least with VM, we do have our moments though. Speaking of VM head over to houses_on_fire and check out my dear friend houses7177 newest sensational fics and drabbles. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.

- Settle this for me. The biggest tiff Jeff and I have ever had was a little over a year ago over Harry Potter. I think it was just about the time "Goblet of Fire" was released at the theaters. Now it wasn't really a fight because we don't fight we discuss with feeling but to some that witnessed it online they thought we were getting a bit heated. Since the first time we have spoken was the other night since I learned of the the release date of the last book, I brought up the settlement we had reached (or I thought we had at least) on his reading of the series. See, he doesn't want to read the books until he sees the movies because he doesn't want to be spoiled for the movies. *blinks*

And he doesn't want to buy the books until he can buy the whole set of 7 in hard back, probably a collection. So he told me would read up threw the 5th book after the movie and just sit on the 6th & 7th book until the movies came out. Sure, he made a strong argument about how some movies are butchered versions of books and his cinematic experience is lessened when he knows how good the books are. I told him I really didn't see that being a problem with HP and furthermore that if he made it threw the 5th book, he wouldn't want to stop himself after that. Sure things are cut from the movies, but with GoF they did a wonderful job considering that was really the first really large book in the series to be adapted. OotP makes me a touch nervous since this is the first movie in the series in which Steven Kloves did not write the screenplay, but other than that I feel like they won't have a problem hitting the high notes in that book as well.

Anyway, my question to all of you is what do you think? Am I being unreasonable to try to get someone who sees eye to eye with me on at least 95% of all things fandom to read a set of books when I know he will love them and enjoy the franchise all the more once he does. Or am I just being a pushy bitch (which he knows abosolutely NOTHING about I can assure you... He is the one that strong armed me into over half of my current fandoms as it is) in trying to convince him that you can't spoil yourself by reading the original material. The book is the intended medium I say, so how is that spoiling?

No matter what I love my Jeff. He is my Bad Daddy and this is just one of our things we snip about it keeps us young. He is one of the smartest people I have ever met and I honestly don't know why we have been simmering on this issue for over a year. Maybe it is just a case of personal preference, or maybe I just want to win for ONCE. Bah!

- And cause now I'm on a roll, it's Deansday! Praise the sweet lord!

Personal Gunk:

- Megan's next gymnastics meet is next weekend and I get to go and video her and the team tonight and check out how the routines look. We have parents 'view weeks' in which we can stay and watch so we aren't disruptive to the classes by our presence. It really isn't so much of a problem with our girls on the team, but some of the other kids and parents were just getting out of hand when you could stay during classes anytime to watch. Anyway, I'm starting to get nervous for the meet. We haven't had one since November and we have this one and one more before the State Championships in March. And all of our girls have gone up a level since we have competed last so I'm just anxious to see how we do up against a new set of competitors.

- Remember the science fair project I was gripping about a few weeks ago for Megan? The one I knew I would have to do? Well, I did it (yes, all by myself, dumbing it down to a 3rd grade level - which since it was science wasn't that hard for me) on Optical Illusions and Afterimages and I won 2nd place. 2nd freakin' place. I was so overwelmed when she got in the car and told me last week I literally couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes and had to call Ben & Elizabeth and laugh to tell them. I was worried about her making a decent grade, so yeah, I was suprised. And since we placed she got 100% on the project. WOOT! So she now goes to the city wide science fair in a few weeks and the state science fair in March. And the child barely understands it. I still think it's hilarious myself.

- We had a water line bust on our road yesterday underground, so we had only the water in our lines last night and this morning. My hair feels like it's crawling (I ususally wash it everyday) but I did have enough water to warm up a bowl full and take a spit bath (at least that's what my Momma always called it) this morning. But if I don't have water by tonight and can't take a shower in the morning and have to go by my mother-in-laws to get dressed for work I will NOT be happy.

- I am so very much looking forward to my 2nd Friday night in a row with houses7177 tomorrow night. I am in charge of picking our viewing and we are cooking Italian not Italian American I was told very quickly, so this looks be another fantastical journey of the taste buds. I can hardly wait!
