I might sound like a traitor to fandom at large for this but I wasn't very impressed with Heroes last night. I wrote a
not so favorible quibble over at Wicked-Insanity if anyone is interested. I have been trying, I really have - but I'm just having problems getting overly interested in the characters as the season continues. In the beginning there was so much promise and now I'm just like "Whatever".
On the other hand,
the return of Battlestar Galactica on Sunday night completely rocked my ass off. It was awesome. If you read that one, make sure and take a peek at Jeff's (
j_mac179) review over mine cause mine is just an concluding note after his more complete review. Both of our comments also contain spoilers, so be careful if you read.
As I wrote in my previous post I also fell in love with Dexter over the weekend. And even though I was traumatized a bit by the flashbacks of his childhood, I can't let that take away from the overall greatness that this show projects. Deliciously rich and deeply rooted characters and just so very different then almost anything else on TV. I still have to watch the final 2 episodes of S1, but if you have been dragging your feet on this show, I seriously advise you to give it a shot.
Also... I finally watched S1 of The Office this weekend. As expected I'm now a fan, but Steve Carrell's character just *shakes head* drives me insane. There is no way I could work with such a lunatic. I mean, how bad do these people need these jobs that they work for such an incompetent ass like that? I couldn't live with myself. But I have been assured he and the show get better, so I will probably move on to the 2nd season this weekend.
Tonight we have the return of Veronica Mars, so I'm excited for that. But I'm more excited for Thursday, not only for Supernatural, but suprisingly (a word I feel the need to always say when complimenting this show) Smallville as well. Any episode where our boy is out of the plaid at least half of the time gets me excited. And we get 2 in a row! WOOT!
