Post Turkey Day Update

Nov 28, 2006 12:23

Just a bunch of random ramblings to catch everyone up to speed since I was absent last week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. My husband and I both took off Friday as well and went over to my in-laws farm just south of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was a nice trip, and they did help with the kids a pretty good bit so we both got to relax a little more than usual. Always a rare treat. Plus, since it was the farm and not where they actually live near Columbus, Georgia the trip was only about 3 1/2 hours. So everyone survived the coming and going without too many threats of death.

Yes I ate too much, which is becoming a habit of mine but I really don't care. Not at the moment anyway. But it's the holidays so I'm not going to stress it until after the new year. I sense definate new years resolutions in the athletics category on my horizon.

I love the farm, especially in the fall. So I took a good many pictures. HERE is a link to the scenic pictures I attempted to take and then HERE you can find some pictures of the family (excluding me - since I was the picture taker :D). None of the pictures have been retouched in any way - just a friendly warning.

Not too much fandom to say since almost everything was all repeatsville last week and stuff. Heroes has me watching it with a somewhat sceptical eye. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it enough I'm just wary of the pacing and all. Not overwelmed half way threw the season, but addicted none the same. Veronica Mars has been a little tricky so far this season as well, and last weeks offering "Lord of the Pi's" was really hard to watch in places. I haven't had time to write a review, but one of my new lj friends somersaulter *waves* pretty much summed up my feelings in this post last week. Then my partner in crime j_mac179 posted his thoughts over at Wicked-Insanity which pretty much are completely on the level with mine since we did a post-episode convo after it aired last week.

Oh Logan, how you do break our hearts. I think part of my soul fractured for you during that last shot last week. Poor thing. What is bad is that now I like almost want him to hurt her in some way. That can't be good can it?

In other fandom news I totally feel like I accomplished something by helping talk the lovely houses7177 into jumping on board with Supernatural and Veronica Mars I was totally going to let her borrow mine but a grocery store produce section meeting which turned into a fandom conference did the final trick and before I knew it, she pops on to say she bought all 3 sets herself. :D Jeff, you should be so proud.

Speaking again of Jeff, we made my 'Holiday' wish list while on the phone last week. May I please add "Pirates of the Caribbean II"? Thx. *muah* And I need to get off my rear and get started on your presentage as well. Although you are very easy I have the desire to like really get you something good so any hints would be welcomed. What makes an easy person hard to buy for is that most things you want you get yourself. Also with the workout regime are your t-shirt sizes still the same?

Supernatural still has it's claws in me pretty deep. I have found quite a few good authors and stories I like so far and even though I still am having a hard time weeding threw the Wincest, I should be ready to put some feedback and recs up on some of my new favorites next week. I can tell you that a few authors that really have impressed me so far are dodger_winslow (whom is too talented to even articulate) and some crossover/het action by danishafer and femmenerd. I still have a ton of fics I have bookmarked to read and am just getting in deeper and deeper every day. Typical me.

Had "Slither" waited on me in the mail when we got back in to town Sunday and so Ben and I watched after we got everything squared away. So awesome. I'm not a big horror genre fan at all - but this movie was different. A few things were overly gross for my tastes (but not Ben's, he loves all that stuff), but not enough to turn me off from the Fillion goodness and the remarkablly delicious cheese the movie offered. Plus, the bonus features are like beyond awesome. Nathan everywhere just being Nathan. I love him so.

I really need to redo my user pics. I am usuing almost all of my 112 (I think - 100 paid and then the 12 free for time of paid membership) and they are disorginized to hell and back, it's starting to annoy me. Plus I have like too many icons of some fandoms and next to none of others. That just won't do. So if anyone in the near future notices alot of default icons usage would be why.

I'm also on the fence about taking my header down. Not that I don't love the Vaughney with all of my soul because I so do, it's just that although I'm not really ready to change my layout I am ready for a change. Maybe something more clean cut and removing my header might do the trick for me. Suggestions and imput are welcome.

I also thought about doing that wish list thingy that everyone is doing here on lj. But I realized that it would only make me think more about Christmas being so close and decided against it. I'm in complete denial about the whole thing.

I guess I have just gotten a little harder as time has gone by. *shrug*

And that's about it. I hope everyone enjoyed, because this will probably be at least my one big post of the week. This is my bad week at work, so any further posting could be challenged as the week goes on.
