Since I'm a slacker and discoving more and more everyday that I am watching entirely too much TV this season, I am posting links to my reviews of this past weeks of shows that I posted on Wicked-Insanity:
Lost 3.01 - "A Tale of Two Cities" Supernatural 2.02 - "Everybody Loves a Clown" Heroes 1.03 - "One Giant Leap" Veronica Mars 3.02 - "My Big Fat Greek Rush Week" I totally didn't have time to do a Bones review this week - but it was up to par as usual and my Smallville review was 3 not very pleasent sentences and an obscene gesture - so nothing really to say on those two at the moment. I also watched The Nine and really enjoyed it but really don't have too much to say about it since I'm still getting a taste of the characters, tonights episode should give us a little more to build on and I kinda felt the same way after the first episodes of Heroes, so I have a good feeling about it. I also have been enjoying Ugly Betty, it is smart and heartfelt in a way that is very refreshing and almost a release from all of the heavier shows on the air right now.
I think that the trend this year for big ensemble casts are making people think a little more in front of the TV. It's not so much the cast size, but more that the overall concepts of the stories has come out of the gate a little bit smarter. There are a ton of really good dramas on the air right now (some of which I don't even watch) and that overall makes me happy. I have seen a few new concepts in shows that are quite entertaning and I am interested to see how many of these shows can go the distance.
On a more nostalgic note, I have been watching S1 of Everwood for the very first time by renting them off Blockbust Online. It is bittersweet because I am not only still bitter about it's loss but also that I waited until the 3rd season to start watching such a brilliant show. From the very beginning they really set a presedent over there that usually isn't upheld with most programs. It just goes to show that you can be a smart, well written, heartfelt and real show and still get the shaft in this dirty business of broadcasting. I have hope that The CW learned from it's mistakes. But I'm really not holding my breath.
