Hi there! I would love to help u with ur sociology project! Even though I try to avoid stereotyping, here are some words which spring to mind when I hear:

Country Music: Hillbillies with banjos and ukeles dreaming of Dolly Parton.

Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B: Rap always makes me think of Eminem. And there is always lots of crotch grabbing in rap videos!

Pop/Pop-Punk: aaahhh! people whining about how they cant get boyfriends and how no-one understands them!

Metal: Men with long hair and 8 minute long guitar solos!

Hardcore/Scene:

Emo/Indie: Acoustic guitars, hair swept over faces, wristbands.

Classical: mellow tunes, violins, people in suits playing in orchestras, the Symphony Orchestra.

Punk: JOHNNY ROTTEN <3! Union jacks, studs and spikes, mohicans, spiky hair, hair dye and The Sex Pistols!

Reggae/Ska: Rastafarians, ganja.

Goth/Industrial: black, obsessions with death and hell, black hair and lipstick, black nails, long hair, trench coats.

Spanish/Spanish Reggae/Spanish Rap/Regatone(??<
