Most Boring Halloween Evar

To be perfectly honest most of my Halloween's have been quite a bore since coming to Mercer. None of my immediate circle of friends is into the party scene or would ever think of going to some type of costumed event. Most of my Halloween's are spent at my current place of residence doing homework or something. Last year I'm sure I was hurriedly working on my PDR for Senior Design, the year before I remember sitting in my apartment wondering if we'd get any visitors (not that I had candy or anything...to be honest our apartment complex houses a lot of shady people), and I have no idea what I did Sophomore or Freshman year. I think I remember JD (one of my first roommates) participating in some haunted forest that ended up in an early wakeup call one Saturday morning. Not really a fond memory.. -_-;

Brett and I toyed with the idea of going to a costume party/burlesque show in Atlanta last Saturday for his b-day but ended up changing plans for a more social event. Speaking of that my weekend was more exciting than it should have been. I only say that because I SHOULD have spent my weekend working on stuff to make this week easier. >_>;

There was much visiting. Lauren and Torie both came up. Lauren to visit me and Torie to celebrate her and Ron's first anniversary. She ended up getting him the Blue Gender collection and he ended up getting her nothing...that led to some interesting conversations (including one about Ron not believing in the act of buying gifts for things like anniversaries). Honestly I agree with him on that...but it's something that both parties need to agree on. Otherwise it just ends in bloodshed... >_<

Things remained quite peaceful though. The 5 of us went to eat at a new japanese place in town called Taki. The food was excellent but I do get sick of seeing the same damn hibachi act over and over again. I don't really care if you draw a smiley face with the oil. I'm not going to laugh when you spin an egg on the grill and say "egg roll" in your horrible engrish. Yes the onion volcano was amazing...the first seven times I saw it. AARRGH! I know there's only so much you can do with a hibachi grill...but there has to be more ways to entertain your guests. Spice it up people!

That night Ron and Torie went off to do whatever they do...while Brett, Lauren, and I invited Nick, Albert, and Jeff over to the apartment. We played a little SCIII but the real fun was watching The Transformers Movie. Whenever I find someone that hasn't seen that I love making them watch it. =P

Saturday was Brett's b-day. Lauren and I drove up with him to Atlanta to visit a couple malls. Most of the day seemed to be broken up by food. At the first mall (Atlantic Station?) we ate some lunch in a place whose name escapes me atm. I wasn't really hungry but they had a very delicious New England Clam Chowder. =P The mall wasn't that exciting. We spent most of the time looking for a smelly candle for Lauren's mom. The second mall (Linux) is always more interesting. I've been there once before with Brett and Torie. I have no interest in shopping...but the place is full of amazingly overpriced things. It's the only place I know of that sells a purse that costs more than a PS3. O_o; That...and they have a Godiva chocolate store. Oh Emm Gee...the taste of their products is the stuff of faerie tales. I've only ordered one thing...and I've had it twice now (if they ever stop making them I might cry). It's called a Dark Chocolate Decadence. It's an iced chocolate drink that...well it's indescribable. You must experience it for yourself.

Torie, Ron, and ANdy drove up after Ron got off work and we all met at Brett's favorite little Italian restaurant (Dominic's). Although I felt kind of bad about it...I ordered some veal. It was covered in cheeses, thinly-sliced ham, and almond slivers. I thought I was going to die. It was the most delicious baby cow I have ever tasted. XP Combine that with wine, free pasta and marinara, and the best garlic bread I've had in a long time and it was a truly epic meal.

After that we all went home and that pretty much ended my fun. I spent all of Sunday and Monday working on stuff, taking exams, etc.. This week is full of shit that needs to get done and right now I'm procrastinating till my professor comes back from lunch.

*sigh* I'd really like to go to Best Buy...pick up FFXII and VP:Silmeria...and lock myself in my room for the next 2 weeks. Maybe next week...
