Oh Ronald…why do our discussions always snowball out of control? You write one line…I write two. I write two pages…you write an autobiography. =P Now I have to write a novel

While I have a few things I would like to comment on I'm kinda pressed on time atm, and I know Ron won't be reading this until Thursday. What I will say is that I don't believe that Ron is really blaming teachers as much as he's blaming professors for not caring about their students. Personally I applaud grade school teachers as I cannot imagine the amount of patience it takes to teach kids. However, college professors need to be a bit more motivated. Now I'm not saying they need to go anywhere near the extent of a grade school teacher, but I would be willing to bet the college professors most people enjoy the most take more interest in their students than the ones everyone dreads to have for class. I mean students will learn more from a professor that is willing to put him/herself out to make the class mildly interesting than someone that comes in and sounds like they're reading you the textbook. As far as changes to grade school, TRACK CLASSES, everyone says its a bad idea because the kids that on in the slower classes will be ridiculed. Well kids are assholes and if that's the worry stuff like that already happens and its usually the really smart kids that get made fun of in higher grades. The truth of the argument against the idea of tracking classes is that the teachers believe it to be unfair to themselves. The unfortunate truth is that very very few teachers are willing and in many cases capable of teaching students that need more attention to get though their studies. Well that's all I can say atm maybe I'll come back and add to this but I have no idea when .
