The protection order against my ex went into place the beginning of July. I am just now FINALLY beginning to resurface and regain the joy that is my life. Unfortunately, I have not yet mastered the ability to sleep much. Could be something to do with the fact I just got a random hang up phone call on the 18th from a payphone (this is a typical ex move) and the ex's roommate has been calling to pass on messages. I am having my home number changed this week and requested to not have a forwarding number posted. If I get calls on my cell, I will have to switch that number out next.

So, in honor of my bouts with insomnia, here is a throwback to a poem I posted on LJ in January of 2004. Nice to know this is not a new phenomenon.
Late Nights (oh the joys of sleep deprivation)
It is late
I cannot blink
I cannot sleep
I am on the brink
Of insanity
I look inward
I look upward
I search for order
In anarchy
I seek peace
I seek meaning
I look for something
In nothing
I ponder deeply
I ponder needlessly
I want to doze off sweetly
Into fantasy
drama,
poetry,
insomnia
