Been spending the week cleaning up the Hyperion and unpacking everything. Almost as dusty in here as it was when we moved in. Kinda weird, considering everything is just like it was before we left. Musty-ed up again, but leaving the windows open helps with that. Dennis apparently raided W&H, so we have reference books, computers, office ( Read more... )

"Annoying evil representative"?

That would be me? The guy you had murdered? By a flunky? After he helped you?

Believe me Angel, I'm sure this situation bothers me a hell of a lot more than it bothers you. The least you could do is try to make this run smoothly seeing as how you had me killed and all.

McDonald? Lindsey? You're the new liaison? Huh. Don't let it be said that the Senior Partners don't have a sense of humor. A twisted, wrong one, but still a sense of humor.

So this is their way of sticking it to me for standing up to them. I'm stuck with you forever now. Of all the -- I can't believe it. Someone tell me the contract allows me to petition for a new liaison.

I don't have time right now to get into it with you over why you're a dead man walking right now, McDonald. Let's just say I had my reasons, and to me they're very good ones.

So it's ok to hire mass-murdering vampires, and it's ok for you to be a mass-murdering vampire, but I never got a damn chance? Right then.

Yeah, really good reasons. I'm sure. Ones like "I don't like your hair?" "You had a thing for Darla?" "You're shorter than me?" What?
How about "You helped me on more than one occasion and every time I threw it back in your face?" Oh yeah. Great reasons. Enlighten me, SoulBoy.

First, I didn't hire Spike, if that's who you're talking about. He got dumped on me by the Senior Partners. At least then he was a ghost and couldn't really do anything. And then someone had the bright idea to make him corporeal, and he just sort of stuck around. Gosh, Lindsey, you wouldn't happen to know whose idea that was, would you ( ... )

Dumped on you? Bloody grateful that I was about, you should be. Otherwise, you'd all be... Oh, sod it all.

And half assed? Who got the Mountain Dew, eh?

I may not be part of your lovefest there at the Hotel California, but it's not like I'm moving to Tahiti, either. I'll still be about, making sure you don't bollix up the important bits. Reckon you'll still need the firepower, LA being what it is.

If you'd paid attention to what I said, Spike, you'd've seen that I was calling Lindsey half-assed, rather than you. Although, don't get me wrong. So much of what you do is half-assed that I might as well have been calling you half-assed, too.

In case you can't tell, I'm really not in the mood tonight, Spike.

What's wrong, ducks, having a spot of trouble with the help? He sems to think that you had him killed. You'd never do that, Mister Big White Hat Champion and all. Go on, tell him.

Er, you didn't, right?

His being corporeal seemed to work out pretty damn well for you, didn't it, so why are you bitching ( ... )
