Waiting for Justice to decide now. Turner argued the case all day yesterday. Called most of us in as witnesses, including me. Have to say, that's one of the more interesting trials I've been in, and I've been in a few ( Read more... )

Hi! And welcome to Angel... Investigations? Inc? Legal Aid? Wolfram & Hart: Goodwill office?

Or, uh, whatever you want to call it.

In any case, "We help the hopeless!"

Or some such.

Hi guys! You miss me?

I think the name Angel Investigations can stick. It's catchy, established, and plus -- Angel here.

Wait . . . Cordy? What are you doing here? Not that it's not good to see you -- better than good -- great, actually -- but what are you doing here? How?

Did we lose? Is that it? This is like, some sort of faux-Hyperion constructed to be our final resting place, isn't it. Or I'm hallucinating again. Or you are. But someone has to be hallucinating here and odds are it's me. Past history, you know.

Sure. I'm hallucinating and you're the one seeing me. Because that's how hallucinations work all the time.

ANYWAY, what? You expected me to just die and completely forget about you guys? Uh uh. Higher Power here. Of course I keep an eye out for you all. And when I see that maybe ya'll are walking into giant, massive death, then I think to myself, "Gee, Cordy. Now's the time to try to intervene - though, indirectly this time, 'cause the last time I intervened directly, I got booted out of heaven complete with hitchhiker and NO GOOD comes from that sort of thing.

By the way, massive props to Cole here for such good work on the case considering the short notice. Am very impressed. We picked you for a good reason.

And, uh... where was I?

Oh, yes. You won! Mostly! Go you!

Well, even if it is just a hallucination, it's better than some of the last ones I had. Ugh. And if it's real . . .

If it's really, I'm not liking the sound of this mostly. What's the caveat, so I can emptor? Nothing ever comes for free, especially from the Powers.

Well, they can't entirely let you out of your contract. I think the basic thought was, "Well, the Senior Partners made a half-assed attempt to go with the contract, so we can only let you out of half of it," kind of deal.

You guys are now basically Wolfram & Hart's new Good Will office! Any pro-bono work they do will be funnelled your way.

Consider this your second chance. You guys screwed up royally, all things considered and none of this would even have gone through if the two souled vamps weren't so dang important to both the Powers and the Partners. You're now back on even ground. I'm back to being your primary contact with The Powers, which is a big old giant "Whoopee!" from me, because let me tell you: Heaven? So. Boring.

I screwed up royally? You're the one that --

Never mind. It isn't worth arguing about now. Not tonight. Or this morning. Whenever.

So are you back for good? Or are you just here for a little while every now and then.

Looking back in retrospect, I might agree with you that perhaps that was rather a stupid plan. But I really wasn't looking too hard at the long-term survival factor.

... While admittedly, that wasn't one of your brightest ideas in the world? Not what I was talking about. Hello! How many times must I lecture you that getting in bed with the enemy is a bad, bad thing? Bad! You shouldn't do it! Even if they DO give you lots of really nice cars ( ... )
