dont expect the worst just know its happening
that date that youve been pushing back
its standing at your doorstep
constantly ringing your bell
accidently answered
but there are no mistakes
only regrets in much later realized years
when your holding the son that you didnt
mean to bring
when your holding your bottles
putting them to sleep
all of those memories thats when theyll seep
lingering tearing at the plastics from your fingertips
hoping will do nothing to the weak
but it keeps me company
so when the ringing reaches my ears
ill ignore it ill ignore you
ill ignore what you're yelling over the tv
over the music i play in my head
the matinee is over and there is no
sequel but youll still sit there
after everyone has left
after the credits
when theres only black
when you know that its over
over at last
do you need them to come and kick you?
