Okay, I need a job and came up with this idea:

And I'm asking for your input, because I don't know how to go about setting it up! And not to sound like a snob or anything, but if you don't know what montessori schooling is, I don't want to hear anything like "You can't do that! They won't just add a class for you!" I have reasons listed below as to why this might work. But, if you don't know what montessori schooling is and you want to know, I'd be glad to tell you. :)

When I was younger, I went to a montessori school. Every day after recess, my teacher would work on cross stitch with us. One summer, she taught a bunch of girls how to crochet. That teacher isn't there anymore (and it's a good thing, because she had no patience...) But now the kids don't have crafts!

So I was thinking, maybe I could go there and see if any of the kids would be interested in learning how to knit and kind of arrange that. It would be easy and a nice supplement once I do get a real job, and help tide things over until I get one. When I went there, we had a guy come and teach this optional tumbling class, so I think this might work. Also, I went there for years and they still remember me, so that is in my favor, too. I'd definitely be going for 8-12 (the school only goes up through 6th grade).

I want to have a plan completely laid out to present to Miss Kelly (the teacher of the kids I'm targeting) and/or Mrs. Swanson (the principal), but I'm thinking I should go to Miss Kelly first so she can guide me through this.

I was thinking an hour on a set day of every week, and chargin $10 per kid per clas and then supplies. I'd use acrylic or cotton yarn, so the supplies would be kept as minimal as possible. Is that too much to ask? Too little? I've never done anything like this, so I don't know what the right amount would be. Parents with kids - what would you pay for a "class" like this?

I was also thinking kid/beginner friendly projects like scarves and wristbands and purses and stuff like that. If anyone else has any suggestions, let me know.

And above all else, good idea? Bad idea? I asked my best friend, and as a non-knitter (is there a name for them?) who didn't go to montessori school, she didn't really have an answer or think it would work. I don't know if it's just because she doesn't know much about either, or if it really is a terrible idea.

Thanks everyone who made it this far <3 <3 <3
