What do you think?

Lisa, Kristy and I were having a conversation today about the men over in Iraq and whether or not they should be allowed to fornicate while over there. Lisa is of the opinion that as long as they are only receiving oral stimulation, there should be nothing wrong with that. They are fighting for their lives and they need some fort of “relief”. Eh.. Actually her view on it is half-common in the military.. In the Marines, the saying was 'What happens on float, stays on float.' Float being a deployment on ship, with stops at diffrent ports in certian countries.

Personally, I think it's cheating. It doesn't matter if you're on deployment or not. I don't get how it can be 'okay' just because they're on a 6+ month deployment, but it's not okay for say.. A businessman/woman who's on a business trip for a week or whatever. It's the same thing, only the type of business is diffrent.

Though, to give credit to the military, the view on it seems to be either of the extremes. Either people think it's okay, or they despise it like none other.

Though, the way I see it, it goes against the values of the military in the first place. In the Marines, the 'core values,' which you're supposed to use to influence your actions, are 'Honor, Courage, Commitment.' Doesn't seem very honorable to me to sleep around on your wife. Doesn't seem very couragous to me to think it's okay to do so as long as no one talks about it. Doesn't seem like you much value the commitment to your spouse that marriage entails.

Personally, I despise people who do it in the military. I'll freely admit, after a while, tension *does* build. But if you aren't enough of a responsible and honorable adult to stay true to your spouse, you aren't responsible enough for me to entrust my life and the defense of my country to, either. If you cheat on your wife just because you've gone without for longer than normal, what's to tell me you won't back down and hide during combat because its more stress than normal?

Just my rusty two cents, since this post is days old =p
