Holiday in Review- Part two, Xmas eve.

Dec 25, 2007 10:02

Holy insanity Batman.

Mom really stressed herself a lot this year. There was near constant action in the kitchen since about 6:30 am.
Cookies, snacks, more cookies...

This year seemed a bit off.

Having BOTH sides of Brent's little family over was a bit wierd. But good. Austin and Sierra love their brother Bryson and I can't see excluding either Amanda OR Natalie. But I *have* gotten to hear some interesting bits from both sides and now I'm not sure how I feel on either side.

Charlie didn't go to Church. Honestly, Charlie didn't do much of anything but sleep the entire time I've been home. I'm really worried about him and I know Mom is too. *sigh*

Gift opening was good. But stressful (to me) as it is every year. Too much noise, excitement, commotion. Lack of child control. Yes, it's Xmas. Yes, they're excited. But really, when presents are getting STEPPED ON, perhaps its time for a little discipline?

I got some really cool presents. Some pretty sugared fruit ornaments for my tree from Brent and Amanda and Bryson. A really cool little decorative plate from Natalie and the kids. A new GF grill and a microplane from my Mom. (who just yesterday asked me what a microplane was-- LiaR!!) The kids made me some pretty paper ornaments (which I asked for) and Austin drew me a picture of Gizmo. I cried so hard. Heck, even Mom was crying, and Austin gave me a big hug without me having to beg for one!

The kids loved their Moon Sand. And Sierra was thrilled with her fuzzy socks (like Auntie's) She said the only thing she got that she asked for was the socks. (and she got a disney digital camera, I'd gladly trade my whole fuzzy sock collection for that!)

I ended up sleeping in Charlie's half of the bed last night, which was awesome! The day bed I've been sleeping on is HARD and in the basement livingroom, where there has been a lot of through traffic, so I haven't been getting the best sleep. But Charlie has been sleeping in his recliner, so he offered his side of the bed. It's an adjusta-bed. SO comfy. I told Mom if I could get it in my trunk I'd take it home with me.

I got up and made waffles for everyone this morning, now I'm contemplating packing up and heading out to the farm to hang with Porky for a while. Probably take a shower there and such so he can have more time out of the kennel.

I considered spending the night, but I'm afraid of being late to work. AND Groovy probably needs food too.

So, that was Xmas eve and early Xmas day.

Probably more later after I get home.
