* 2011 *
Soo... it's the year 2011... Dun Dun Dun..
How's everyone been doing? Just came across a file on my computer, and remembered that I haven't been on here in FOREVER! And so I felt it would be good to do a lil Updating! :)
It's been at least a 1.5 yrs since my last post.. How sad is that?! For-shame on me!
so.. recap of the last couple years...
2009:
So me & my then fiance David, got married in June of 2009... not much went on before that..
The wedding was great! We got married at Kincaid Chalet in Anchorage, AK. and enjoyed the company of many of our friends and family! Unfortunately not that many of my family members were able to attend, but at least my grandparents & Step-bro (and his wife) were able to make it. Dave had more family that was able to make it, seeing as they live closer to alaska.. (in california).. Other than missing some of my other family members, I had a great day. Glad that my friends were able to be there! Specially my friend ally, who flew in from Fairbanks to be one of my bride's maids! (thanks again ally)
We didn't go on our honeymoon right away, due to dave's work.. He is a PileDriver, and so summers are his busy season. We had to wait 6 months to finally take our honeymoon, but boy am I glad we did.. Got to get away from the freezing cold alaskan weather for 2 weeks (in january of 2010). We went to Honolulu, HI.. and it was so much fun.! Plus about going when we went, I got to celebrate my 23rd bday there! That was a night I shall never forget, except the parts that I can't remember! hahahahaha.... got in on the 4th, and then the next night we ended up doing a Bar Crawl. A total of about 6 bars, I don't remember the last one though.. Had a great night.. never been drunk before then, and don't plan to be ever again! OMG! Met alot of fun people during the whole thing.. Including 2 very wonderful girls from England.. Zarah and Lilly! :) They were awesome.. and then there were these guys from Australia that were under 21 and totally wasted from the very start of the Crawl. they were pretty funny though.. They wore Ski goggles all night and kept askin us all these really silly questions about living in Alaska! All in all really enjoyed Hawaii.. wish we could've done more adventurous stuff while we were there.. but still had a blast.. we went Snorkeling at Hanama Bay and then ended up buyin snorklin stuff and doing it at the beach right by our hotel... did alot of just layin around at the beach or up in our room. And on our last day there I got myself a new Tattoo! :) It's great and I love it.. Got the Big Dipper ( made of stars) with the phrase "north to the future" underneath it.. Dave got a new tattoo as well, a flaming star on his arm.. funny thing is that the colors he chose, were the same colors as almost all his other tats.. haha
2010:
So other than Hawaii.. not much else has gone on.. just working all the time.. Tryin to get more hours, but it's not going too well.. On the up side.. I had heard of a position opening up at work in our front end.. as a CSS (customer service supervisor).. So I applied for it.. Turns out alot of people at work, thought that I would be great for that position.! Including our front end manager and several of the cashiers.. :) so yay for me.. by the middle part of the year I began to wonder if they were ever gonna go forward with interviewing me or anything and it wasn't until the very end of the year that they confirmed that they were going to move me up front.! Which made me sooo happy.. Also, during the summer of this year. Dave and I moved into our first house.. We had alot of work cut out for us, as we were having to gut the entire house and start from scratch. I enjoyed helping tear things apart.. got the pull all the insulation out of the ceiling in the master bedroom and the spare. It was pretty bad.. they previous residents didn't take good care of the property, and there was alot of problems. From mildew in the insulation & drywall.. to leaking roof.. Pot plants in the crawl spaces both above and below the house... It was crazy! but once that was finished we got the the remodeling part.. new drywall.. new cabinets in the kitchen.. a whole new layout for the kitchen and even the bathroom.. made the bathroom alot bigger, and moved the doorway of it to a different wall. I got to do the painting in the bedrooms.. and had a good time with that! Now the house is completed.. for the most part! There are still some minor things that need to be taken care of.. We moved into the house in June.. and it's really nice to be in it. The only thing that kinda sux right now, is that there isn't a regular heating system in the house.. just a small gas heater in the livingroom. So it can be very COLD in the house right now. Can't wait till it's summer again, so that we can get the heating takin care of!
Also during this year.. I found out that my brother Chris & his girlfriend/wife were expecting and ended up havin a baby girl.. she is soo adorable. can't wait to meet here in person. Her name is Lillian :). Megan & Claire turned 3 years old in November. I can't believe how big they have gotten already.. seems like just yesterday they were born! Man does time fly. Also found out that 2 of my classmates from Highschool are expecting. Both due in May of 2011. Not much else happened this year.
2011:
The new year began less than 2 months ago.. February is almost over.. only a few days left, and we will be in the month of March! I can't believe how fast time has gone by already! So I found out that they are 100% for sure going to be transfering me to the new position, just not sure when! Hopefully within the next month! I'm soo itchin to finally be up there! I'm ready for a change! Hopefully once the evaluations are finished I'll be up there. In January Braylon ( my lil bro) turned 5 years old! OMG, he's gettin to be such a big boy.. I can't believe he's been with our family for 5 years now! He's such a goofy boy sometimes. Next year he will be going into Kindergarten! He'll hopefully be attending the Rilche Schule.. a German imersion school.. that would be totally awesome if he makes it in! And then at the end of January beginning of February, I found out that another one of my friends/classmates from school is pregnant.. lol.. it's a baby boom I swear! lol.. She's not due until september... It feels very weird knowing people that are going to be parents! Makes me a lil jealous! but I'm hoping that it will soon happen for me and dave. Even though I know that Dave isn't as excited about wanting to be a parent. But that's just me ranting .. Missing my hubby right now, as he is on an island (shemya) out in the aluetian chain, doing a job.. Yay for makin some mulah! :)
