Love The Hurt Away Tim/Lyla

Lyla was driving back to Dillon from Austin just thinking about how much Jason had changed since his accident. She thought that their lives would be okay after it. That things would just go back to how it was. She could deal with the fact that Jason would be in a wheelchair the rest of his life, that didn't bother her. She would just love him and they would be happy. But, slowly she could see that Jason was changing right before her eyes and well she just wasn't changing with him. The boy had gone out and branded himself for life. And had gotten it done by a girl who was pretty, even Lyla had to admit it. When she saw the sign that said 'You Are Now Entering Dillon' she didn't want to go home. Her parents were arguing and her dad wasn't even living there anymore. It was all too much for her.

Lyla just kept driving and driving. She didn't know where she was going but she didn't care. She just wanted some time to clear her head. When she finally stopped the car she realized that she was in front of Tim's house. She really hadn't talked to Tim since their whole affair, if you wanted to call it that. She didn't know what she was doing here but she figured she might as well get out and knock on the door.

She sat in the car for a while contemplating whether it was a good idea to get out. Finally after what seemed like hours but was only a few minutes, she finally got out and started the walk towards his door.

Tim had seen Lyla's car sitting outside of his house and it took everything in him not to run out there and give her hug and kiss her and bring her back into his house. He just waited for her to come and knock on the door. Finally he heard a knock and went to open the door. He saw her standing at his front door with a tear stained face and looking down at the ground. "Lyla," that was all he could muster up to say. Just her name.

Lyla looked up when Tim said her name and shrugged. "I don't know what I'm doing here. I was just driving around and when I finally stopped the car, I was in front of your house." She saw that Tim was just staring at her. It made her feel like he didn't want her there. "I should go..." She turned to walk away but something grabbed her arm. When she looked down she saw that it was Tim's hand. "Come in," that was all he said to her and walked inside. She followed him in and closed the door.

Lyla looked around his house. She'd seen it many times but somehow this time was different. She didn't know what to say. She just saw Tim standing there in his kitchen staring at her. Like she looked weird or something. "What Tim?" she had to say it so she could find out why he just kept on looking at her. He shook his head and went over and sat down on the stool pulling it out for her to sit down next to him. She walked slowly over to it and sat down.

"So what did you come here for Lyla? To tell me how much you love J and how happy you are that you two are getting married? Cause if so, I really don't wanna hear it." It wasn't exactly what Tim had had in mind to say to her after not seeing or talking to her for a while but it was what came out. When he had heard that her and Street were getting married he drowned himself in a bottle of beer. It hurt to know that she really hadn't of felt anything. Because he had felt so much for her in such a short time. But mostly all he was thinking about right now was why she was here. In front of him. After he had wanted her to knock on that door so many times. What could she possibly want?
