first drabble

I'm a long time writer finally finding a good place to post. My sister raves about LiveJournal, and finally got me to get an account.

Anyways, here's my first drabble that I wrote during a converstation with said sister.

Title: Grammar Lessons

Rating: G

Disclaimer: Everything is owned by J.K. Rowling.

Word Count: 229

Summary: Sirius is on a mission to distract Remus from his studies, but ends up in a heated discussion on proper grammar.

“Moony?”

“...”

“Moooooony.”

“Stop it. Stop it now.”

“What was that? Your words were muffled by the unnecessarily thick Potions text in front of you face.”

“Leave.Me. Alone. Go bug James.”

“I’m sorry, I still don’t understand. I’ve been without human contact for so long the English language is lost on me.”

“You were talking just fine at lunch a few hours ago.”

“Was it only a few hours? It feels like it’s been silent for years.”

“That’s because some people are trying to study for their O.W.L.s.”

“When you could be frolicking about with me?”

“We’ve been in the common room for 3 hours and I have yet to see you frolic.”

“I could frolic.”

“...”

“...”

“Is Study Time over yet?”

“Stop that.”

“Whatever do you mean?”

“Stop using incorrect capitalization in your speech. I can hear it, don’t think I can’t hear it.”

“Why would I use Improper Capitalization?”

“There! You did it again! What have I told you about capitalization.”

“‘Capitalization is to only be used at the beginning of a sentence, or when writing a name, place, or proper noun.’”

“Very good.”

“But at least I don’t misuse punctuation marks.”

“I do not.”

“Or italics.”

“Enjoying an extra common or a little more emphasis on certain words is no crime!”

“...”

“...”

“Are you flustered?”

“I’d say so.”

“Then my work is done.”
