Disclaimer: Eh. I dunno. Don't own Lindsay even though she's apparently taken up residence in my head. No, she belongs to the blokes over at Bruckheimer Television, Alliance Atlantis, CBS, and whoever else is lucky enough to have claim on her. So, y'know, nothing gained. Just for fun. Don't sue me, kthx.
A/N: Written for
csi50, so it's xposted. Beta by the 216. Because she tolerates me when I ramble late at night. ♥! And with that, I am done. Sangria for all, on me. ^_^

She tried not to let her emotions get to her, but sometimes she couldn't help it. How do you keep yourself from crying when you're photographing the body of a three year old who died from ingesting the crack left on the table by her errant mother while packaging it for sale? Or when your scene consists of a ten year old hit-and-run victim that was just riding their scooter in the park?
Lindsay was terrified of losing a part of herself, but some days the Job just got to be too much. There had been too many nights that she'd sat in the tub and cried while finishing a bottle of wine by herself after work.
"Hey, lighten up, kid," one of the uniforms she'd worked a scene with had told her once. "After a while, it stops bothering you so bad."
She hoped that day never came.
