What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
got straight A's, graduated from college. after that, i went an entire 3 months without being in school or being employed- THAT i had never done before.
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
after checking all my online blogs/twitter for a resolution, i don't really see any that i posted. i did, however want to be living in Washington DC by this time. i clearly would have liked to have a good job in a big fun city by now. i will probably make some resolutions for myself but not for the whole year.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
none of my IRL friends, no!
Did anyone close to you die?
no, thankfully. though losing Mica in 2009 still hurts from time to time.
What countries did you visit?
France!
What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
a job!!!!! and more steady relationships, both friendship-wise and romantically
What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory?
one of my best weekends in SB was a weekend where my housemates and i went for a bike ride, took pictures at Campus Point, and splurged on peppermint schnapps and chocolate cake.
also, i will always remember my grandparents and parents coming to Santa Barbara for my graduation. and i will also remember how happy i was to be back in FRANCE for the first time since 2009!
What was your biggest failure?
i definitely am disappointed in myself for not having a job. and also, to a lesser extent, for still being in Sacramento. i'm learning to like it here, but i still think i'd be happier in a bigger city.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
just the occasional colds and hangovers!
What was the best thing you bought?
my iPhone 4! love love love it.
Where did most of your money go?
most of my day-to-day money goes to food or alcohol. but i also paid my way to New York for a couple of weeks in October w/o the help of my parents.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
graduation day, going back to France, Halloween in New York City and seeing Joanna again in NYC for the first time in almost 3 years!
What song will always remind you of 2010?
I have no idea.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?: much sadder, unfortunately.
b) thinner or fatter?: thinner, i think.
c) richer or poorer?: richer; i'm saving a lot of money by living with my parents.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
definitely not enjoying my time at UCSB- i certainly lived it up my last couple of months there. i wish i had done more networking.

not sure.
How will you be spending New Years?
i was at an appetizer-type potluck at my neighbors house until about 10:30, then i came home and watched Snooki drop with my parents :P
What was your favorite TV program?
this year, i got into Mad Men, 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, and How I Met Your Mother. not to mention i continued my love for LOST (which ended), The Office, Glee, and Jeopardy :P
What was the best book you read?
i really loved The Time Traveler's Wife... and i remember really enjoying the books i read for school too. most of them were probably either French literature or some kind of conflict/terrorism related reads.. lol
What was your greatest musical discovery?
RJD2, MSTRKRFT, La Roux and Florence + The Machine are the trendy groups i started liking this year, lol.. i am also starting to get into dubstep, mostly because it's awesome driving music.
What did you want and get?
an iPhone, really good grades the whole year, but ESPECIALLY great straight A's spring quarter which put me at a 3.498 GPA (basically i graduated with a 3.5), a few really fun trips to New York and France.
What did you want and not get?
a job, to be living in a big city by now..
What was your favorite film of this year?
i'd have to say of the movies i've seen in the past couple months, Black Swan was my favorite. Harry Potter 7 part 1 was also really great. i don't remember many of the movies i saw before the summer time...
What did you do on your birthday?
ran errands, then Meghan and So-Ky came from out of town to go out with my friends and i downtown :) i was doing fine...until i passed out and they put me in a cab to go home. lol
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
i feel like this is getting kind of redundant, but ANY job post september would have been nice!
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
French! boots scarves sweaterssss

now, i miss my friends from school
Who was the best new person you met?
i didn't meet many people! except maybe all my UC students i helped in France. they were lovely :)

nothing ever comes easily.
Was 2010 a good year for you? Why?
half and half. the first half of the year was spent living it up during my last 6 months of college and doing really well in classes in the meantime. during the second half, though i did get 2 trips to New York to see family and friends and a return trip to France, the time i've spent at home has been very frustrating and emotionally trying.
What was your favorite moment of the year?
probably graduating from UCSB with my parents and grandparents there. it was also my grandpa's birthday and it just meant so much to see my family proud of me.
Where were you when 2010 began?
wandering around San Francisco with my 3 best friends from UCSB + Brendan :)

Sacramento
What was your favorite month of 2010?
probably August (because it started off with a trip to New York and ended with my France trip) or October, since i got to go to NY and spend time with my family again and see Joanna.

New York and Connecticut
How many concerts did you see in 2010?
i started off the year with a Steve Aoki concert at UCSB. then saw Chromeo in the spring.. and that's about it.
Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2010?
i guess you could say that. it was all concentrated in the first 3/4 of the year. i haven't been drinking much or often since September.
Did you do a lot of drugs in 2010?
zero.
What was the worst lie someone told you in 2010?

How much money did you spend in 2010?
well, my parents helped pay my $700/mo rent to live in SB until August.. but the only things i paid for were my expenses in France and my 2nd trip to New York.
What was your proudest moment of 2010?
graduating.
If you could go back in time to any moment of 2010 and change something, what would it be?
i think i would just tell myself to be more realistic about the work it is going to take to find a good job now.
What are your plans for 2011?
find a job in Sacramento for now until May/June so that i can have a competitive application for internships starting either in the summer or fall! then apply to grad school in the fall.
