[MyLittleSandbox] Played It - Yucata.de

Hawaii game in progress Not a game as such, Yucata is a site which implements popular board games on the web. I recently returned to playing on Yucata and was astonished at the number of games now available. There are more than 80 games, ranging from abstracts to recent euros like Hawaii.

How do I love Yu(cata) ? List time :

game rules are fully implemented and enforced
original game graphics are used (the site licences all the games from their publisher)
game play is asynchronous - so I can fit a game around my schedule, taking a turn when I like.
invitations can be public or private - play with your friends or with anyone across the globe.
it's multi-lingual - hello stranger from France !
it works pretty well on my iPad.

Because the rules are fully enforced it's an excellent way to learn a new game, and a good way to learn to understand a new game - as you can play several games at once against players of different abilities. The site has a ranking system, which encourages players to try new games and play different opponents.

Yucata can be a dangerous time sink - there's nothing stopping you from signing for dozens of games at once, but used in moderation it's a great deal of fun.
