I instantly dismiss any sort of scientific claims from people that are religious.

This is a bad impulse, as simply being religious does not make your claims invalid (unless of course you cite the Bible).

For example, Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Baptist. Does that make his message invalid?
Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner (and slave banger! HEYOHHH!!!). Does that make his message invalid?
A Roman Catholic priest named Georges Lemaître first proposed the Big Bang Theory. Does his religious background make this invalid?

I'm going to try and not dismiss claims or ideas brought on by the religious, but I will have an extremely critical eye on them. It's really, really, really difficult to listen to ideas from people that think there's a magical father figure in the sky watching us all.

On the other hand, religious people, what the fuck?
