Michael Essien > you. Deal with it.

Chelsea FC is under the media spotlight again (understandably, for once) yet none of the papers are bothering to report the one story that a) isn't 99.99% wild speculation and b) is actually important:

Today is Peace Ambassador Michael Essien's Peace Match in Ghana. The game will be an African XI, including Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou, vs. a World XI, captained by Ashley Cole and including Florent Malouda. And even though no1 curr about peace in the media, loads of famous faces from the Premiership and other leagues are also participating. Well done to Ess and everyone who is supporting him for this event. Hopefully it will make a difference.

And on a similar note, preach it, Mourinho!

"Finally, I want to end with a very simple wish, which is that next season we recover certain principles that nobody should ever forget, and which this season some football professionals and some institutions have sometimes forgotten, and which must be the basis of our sport.

"To talk of fair-play, of respect to your opponents and of the red card to racism must not just be words, they must be facts. I repeat, I have the hope that next season we can recover for our sport these absolutely fundamental principles."

I've had that same wish for years now, but thanks to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Mike Riley and of course UEFA I no longer have hope that it will ever come true. What a tragedy that players like Mikey and his friends are doing more good for the sport and the world in general than organizations with global reach and billions of dollars at their disposal.

uefa are enemies of football, jose is a special one, flo mo, didi is my hero, salou, chelsea, psa, football, mikey aka bison aka god
