Obvious bromance is obvious
I know it seems like all I ever do in this journal is bitch and moan, so when something comes along that truly brightens my life it's only fair to share that too. Today's happy is brought to you by the adorable and inseparable Salomon Kalou and John Mikel Obi.
It seems that, for reasons which escape me, Sala recently did an interview with Kickette, in which he proclaimed that Mikel is his BFF. Then this happened:
Q: When you’re on a night out, are you the guy chillin’ in the VIP, relaxing and posing or are you the one busting your best moves on the dance floor?
A: Me and my mate Obi we like to sit down and chill, get a few drinks and talk to people as they come by. We don’t really dance.
I think it's safe to say that in the above the word 'mate' is used not to mean the more usual 'good buddy' but rather in the sense of 'soulmate/life partner/One True Love.'
Meanwhile over on the official site Mikel has been answering questions submitted by fans, with a little 'help' from a certain teammate:
Q: You seem to have matured this season. What caused you to undergo this change? How is the JMO of 2010 different to that of 2007?
Mikel: That is when I joined Chelsea.
Kalou: He is less diva-ish. He is not a diva anymore; he used to be a real diva back then.
Mikel: What? I don't know why you are here, go away!
(Kalou continues laughing but doesn't leave; instead he sits opposite Mikel.)
...and so on. Really, boys? Really? It's like they're dating and they're the only two people in the world who don't realize it, bless them. Carry on, bbs! ♥
In other news, Michael Essien continues to be made of shiny and awesome. On November 16th he will return to his hometown of Awutu Breku to host a sports day for children and the launch of the Reading Goals literacy initiative, and will also be commissioning a water bore hole and a new public toilet for the town.
Attention everyone else who wishes to kiss Mikey's feet: please form an orderly queue and wait for your turn. The line starts behind me. ;)
