Top of the league, havin' a laugh...
I haven't had a lot of time to catch up on match reports from Sunday's victory over Manchester United, but I gather that Alex Ferguson has expressed some disappointment regarding the officiating. Presumably he was referring to the two goal kicks wrongly awarded as United corners, the failure to book Darren Fletcher for persistent fouling and brandishing imaginary cards, the failure to award a penalty for O'Shea's shirt pull on Drogba as Van der Sar saved an Anelka shot/cross, or the failure to send off Johnny Evans for his flying dragon kick into Drogba's chest. To be fair, I believe that last decision is correct under the little-known Punish the Victim clause, which states that no foul occurs when a defender kicks an opponent anywhere above waist height as long as that opponent plays for a team from London wearing blue. Lubos Michel demonstrated the proper application of that clause in Moscow, and obviously Martin Atkinson was simply following his stellar example.
I also seem to have missed large portions of the match, because according to the media United completely dominated from start to finish and were robbed of an emphatic victory. Maybe I'm suffering from lack of sleep, but I can't remember Cech having to make a save until the second half, and I'm pretty sure he only made two in the entire match. Hmm. I guess I'll just leave the analysis to the pundits and simply enjoy watching the United camp and apologists twist in the wind while spouting increasingly bitter and absurd excuses for being undisciplined, petulant, thuggish losers.
In happier news that doesn't involve heinous, hypocritical tossers, it seems that Didi and Nico have been drooling on each other in front of the press again. Honestly, it's like they're trying to become as umbilically attached as JT and Frank. Keep up the top work, boys! ♥ ♥ ♥
Also, apparently Didi's son Isaac has just signed for Chelsea's academy along with Ballack's eldest son Louis. Dawww! If we throw in Georgie Terry, Rodrigo Carvalho, Aaron Malouda, Damian Cech, and Joshua Belletti, plus get Eidur's kidlets back from Barcelona, I reckon we'll have the makings of a great team in a few years! And with Summer Terry, Frank's and Flo's daughters, Adela Cech, and a daughter on the way for Joey, we'll probably have a ladies side pretty soon too! XD
Speaking of Ballack, if you haven't already seen it you should drop what you're doing right now and go watch this random and hilarious commercial Micha did, which confirms that he a) is a giant dork and b) has a truly devious laugh. ♥ Also? That bed looks so comfy and cozy, I just want to cuddle up in it. I suppose Micha being there would just be an added bonus. ;)
