Hmm.

So.

Congratulations and well done, Eidur. At least there is one person who deserved the medal he should have had the chance to win in 2005.

And that's all I'm going to say about the Corrupt League Champions League until I've had more time to order a few things into a constructive format. For now I'd much rather focus on a cup competition that hasn't been completely devalued, and what better way to warm up for Saturday can there be than celebrating all the ways Chelsea have been fantastic this season?

The following statistics, courtesy of The Guardian, The Times, and OPTA, demonstrate that, contrary to popular delusion opinion, the Blues do in fact play football that could actually be described as (whisper it) beautiful.

Top Scorer: Anelka 19
Top Assists: Lampard and Van Persie 11
Fewest Goals Conceded: Chelsea and Man Utd 24
Half-Time League First: Chelsea 71 pts
Away League First: Chelsea 44 pts

~ Chelsea set a new Premier League record of 11 consecutive away wins between April and December 2008.

~ Chelsea fired in the most shots on target (248) this season.

~ Frank Lampard had more shots on target (57) than any other player.

~ Chelsea were the most accurate passers this term with 81% accuracy.

~ Chelsea had the Premier League's lowest long ball pass percentage of 10.8.

Not that I ever need more reasons to be proud of the team, but this just shows exactly how well they performed this season even with all the backroom drama, long-term injuries, and media circus, not to mention the long list of ridiculous decisions that went against them on the pitch. I'm especially pleased for Nico; his Golden Boot is even more impressive when you consider that he played out of position in many games and didn't take any free kicks or dives penalties like his nearest challenger.

Well done, boys, and here's to all your hard work getting the reward it deserves on Saturday! ♥

uefa are enemies of football, damned lies and statistics, fa cup, super frank is super, chelsea, champions league, football, nico: haters a la gauche, eidur
