Remember last week when I was expressing my undying affection for Fulham's Moritz Volz? This week I've been amusing myself by surfing his hilarious website, the aptly- and imaginatively-named volzy.com. Speaking of lovable footballers, the following was posted on the official Chelsea site yesterday:
All together now! Once again it's been a week of the Chelsea squad spending time together off the pitch and showing group spirit on it...
...This season the players have created their new pre-match group routine. Not the huddle, but each player individually goes round all the other players and has a 'good luck' grasp or cuddle.
John Terry used to do that with the defence, and it is something which seems to have grown organically to everyone.
Jose Mourinho still goes back to the battling February win in his first season here away to Blackburn as the first peaking of Chelsea's group spirit.
It has been peaking a lot since then. It's alive and strong both on the pitch and off it.
You couldn't make it up, could you? *facepalm*
Mind you, I'd quite like a 'good luck' cuddle myself... ;)
