Ashlee Simpson's CD, Autobiography, is amazing!!! I've written a review if anyone hasn't gotten it yet or wants a track breakdown or something. Plus I'm bored. LoL.
01. Autobiography ~ I really like this song. It's probably the rock-iest track on the album, and Ashlee sings it really well. I don't think it would work on anyone else. It's extremely well-written too. There's metaphors and everything!
02. Pieces of Me ~ If you haven't heard this song by now, you're a loser :P
03. Shadow ~ Extremely heartfelt. I love that the lyrics give hints that the song is talking about Jessica but it can really fit to anyone's life. I don't know quite what's up with the "I was six years old // when my parents went away" part, but the rest of the song is great, if a little dark in places.
04. La La ~ The lyrics to this one are pretty much nonsensical, but it's still a really fun song to listen to. Seems like it would bring up your mood.
05. Love Makes the World Go Round ~ I love this song. Again, there are beloved metaphorical lyrics and a great beat. It's not one of the more up-tempo tracks but it's still fantastic.
06. Better Off ~ This should be the next single. It sounds enough like Pieces of Me to be successful on the radio, but it's different enough to no be repetitive. The lyrics flow really well together, and everything just fits.
07. Love Me 4 Me ~ This is another very rock-y track. The lyrics are straight-forward and powerful: "here I am // perfect as I'm ever gonna be" and "stick around // I'm not the kind of girl you want to leave // you'll see".
08. Surrender ~ This is another potential second single. From the moment I heard the clips on Ashlee's show, I've liked it. The chorus is my favorite part - I love the way the lyrics just seem to fit.
09. Unreachable ~ A slower song. I don't really like this one because her voice seems like it's venturing onto unknown land that it's not really comfortable with. It's sort-of shaky, but the song's good for background music.
10. Nothing New ~ I think we can all relate to this song, and it's the perfect thing to listen to when you're mad. It doesn't have a heavy beat, but the lyrics are angry. LoL.
11. Giving It All Away ~ I like this song; it's not one of the best on the album but it's tempo is fun. It changes from slow to fast in all the right places and the lyrics are clever.
12. Undiscovered ~ This is probably my least favorite song on the album. It's definitely the slowest, and I personally don't think Ashlee's voice flows well with the tempo. Again, the lyrics don't really make much sense to me, and the song sounds like it was written in a hurry.
Miscellaneous ~ The CD case and booklet have a really unique design, and I love all the random touches put into it, such as using a die for the number of track six. There's a lot of subtle touches that give the booklet an identity of it's own.
