gettin lucky in kan-tucky

Yesterday, I was Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ and got dressed up all purty and went to the race horse track in Lexington, Kentucky. I wore brown slacks, these cowboy-like boots, a khaki blazer, and a pink dress shirt. I never wear pink. I think it’s too ‘gay’. But it did look good with the brown. I looked good.

When I got to the track, it was even better and more cliché than I could ever have imagined. The girls were all dolled up in spring dresses and some were even carrying these white sun-umbrellas with fringe and tassels hanging from them-(they have a special name but I forget). I was surprised to see about a quarter of the men were wearing pink too. Guess it’s ‘the’ color right now.

I won big on a horse named ‘Meadow Soprano’. I put all of my money on her because I like the HBO series.

It was great sitting back, watching this spectacle with a maker’s mark-on-the-rocks in one hand and a cigarette in the other. The weather was beautiful.

A few women hit on me. They all looked like sorority girls. But I had my eyes on this brown eyed, brown bearded, Kentucky boy in a brown polo.

I like brown. It’s my new favorite color.
