Drew leaves for Baker this weekend. I can't believe that kid is going off to college. I remember when he was two and riding around with me in my VW Bug . I can't believe the years have flown so quickly.
He is going through Rush this weekend. He has 3 great national fraternities to choose from ,Kappa Sigma,Delta Tau Delta,Sigma Phi Epsilon and a really good local fraternity , Zeta Chi. All 4 chapters are 100 year old chapters. Basically that means that there is a lot of financial and alumni support backing them up. I was amazed that his parents were okay with him rushing but they were all for it. Only because it is substantially cheaper,between $1500-$2000 yearly. Can't wait for him to pledge so I can buy him a sweatshirt and letter stuff.I have my choice but of course that means nothing.he has to make the best choice for him.
I also told him that he better be protecting himself too. I told him that I didn't want to hear about his sex life either. I told him that I know he has one because he is 18 and cute and a musician and that he better be protecting himself even if the girl says she is on the pill.Not to mention all the std's and such. The good thing is that he knows there is a long line of people who will kick his ass if he leaves school with a child instead of a degree.
