Hi all,
I'm just going to write down all i've done for Thanksgiving because I odn't want to forgot all the random stuff I did so sorry if you're going ot be bored. Suck it.
I'm in Chicago for Thanksgiving. It's pretty incredible. Getting to UofChicago from O'Hare was a trip. I landed at 4:00 and after sketchy hit-ons, sketchy underpasses, and weird bus drivers, got to UofC at 7:00. Carmella, Theano, and I rushed off to go watch Common preach about Jesus and the spirit, rap women being whores, and then go on to rape some poor woman. Then we went to a few chill UofC partiesl then Carmella and I shortly pass out to random people walking in and out. On Sunday, we walked around downtown and uptown just checking places out like the American Dolls place, some cool cars, Michigan Avenue, and Vargoes (sp?) - a haut chocolate place with chocolate filled with olives, curry, chili powder, etc. Then I left and ate a peanut butter sandwich on the L to get to Northwestern. I arrived and wandered around trying to get to the campus center on sketchy instructions by James and others. I finally made it and watched random rehearsals before James and I ran into each other. I then watched him dance as a lumberjack which was very good. Then James and I went swing dancing! That was fun -- we have free lessons in Dallas? What? So going? And then Meredith and I ate so much food at Clarke's or something.
So Monday, Carmella and I went to the Bean or Cloud Scapes and then went to the Chicago History Museum and learned so much about Chicago (the place where the first birth control pill was invented as well as chain reactions for nuclear warfare). We then walked to the Lincoln Zoo to see Zoo Lights. We found the conservatory which was full of humidity and amazing plants. We were too late for the Nature Museum though. I made my way to Second City which ended up sucking and the actors on stage ended up crying over their stage manager which had moved on to the world of investment banking.
Today, I left my phone in Meredith's room which was a disaster. As soon as I stepped out of her apartment and locked the door from the inside, I realized I had left it. I got on the L, drank so much tea I had to pee so incredibly bad. Missed my stop and ended up in Chinatown. Made my way to the library and we went to the Field's Museum and Aquarium which were just overrun with thousands of kids. Then we went to the Chicago Art Institute which had amazing photography. Finally we went to the Museum of Contemporary Art which featured an incredible, incredible exhibition about green technology and inventions. I left Carmella and got stranded outside of Meredith's apt. I walked to the theater to use their pay phone but long distance costed 4 bucks so I used a big black guy's cell phone. Called Channing and Chen and we went out for Giorgiano's pizza. As we were paying, I realized i lost my wallet. Contemplating who stole it and where. Turns out I left it ontop of the payphone. So we go back to the theater and they have it but the cards are all looked through. Now I'm home. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
