LJ National Protest Day
I believe in the sanctity of marriage.
Meaning that if two people love each other that they should be allowed to marry in the eyes of the government and God, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, physical disability or sex.
Marriage is about love and commitment, about spending the rest of your life with that person, about being protected under the laws of the state and nation when your spouse dies.
The more I think about the President's declaration, the madder I get. It's like Quayle taking on Murphy Brown saying that being a single mother is a disgrace.
I don't want the government telling me who I can and cannot love and marry.
May I suggest that on October 15th, everyone post your protest in your LJ by way of icon, story, or whatever you feel appropriate!
Feel free to pass this suggestion around! =)
MARRIAGE IS ABOUT LOVE AND COMMITMENT...PASS IT ON!
