WE WON STATES! *dances* I still can't believe we won. We beat 8 other of the top scoring schools in Pennsylvania in the Life Smarts competition. For those of you who don't know what Life Smarts is (which I'm assuming is a lot because before I was on the team I had no clue), it's sponsored by the Attorney General's office and it's about consumer products, health and safety, technology and all that fun stuff. Why gifted students are the ones competeting, I have no clue, we're not the most life smart people out there. None of the team is even in any technology or business classes.
So, anyway, winning the competition comes with some nice things. First off, we get a $100 dollar U.S. Savings Bond, which is nice. Secondly, we're the first team from CV to even get to the Nationals. Thirdly, the Nationals is in Orlando, Florida. I.e. we get to go to Florida! And DisneyWorld. Plus if we win Nationals, we get big scholarships, and we're probabaly staying at a Disney resort. Okay, so we only get to go to Florida if we can afford it, and that means we need the school district to cough up some dough to cover five days in Florida.
