This. Is. Fucking. Insane

Some dumbass, Tenkani who's a scientologist, actually told people this:

"Recently, some of the posters here on Discover Vancouver began criticizing the Church of Scientology and the teaching of Lord Hubbard. I would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight on what Scientology is and isn't.

"In Lord Hubbard's own words, "a civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology."

"So what exactly is Scientology? It is the fastest growing religious movement on earth. Across this feeble dust ball we call a planet, Scientology has become a firmly established and active force for positive change in less than half a century. The efficacy of Scientology can be demonstrated by its popularity. Millions of people the world over use its principles in their daily lives and use the power of Scientology for themselves, their families, their organizations, their nations and this entire civilization. There are more than 3,200 Church of Scientology (CoS) temples, missions and groups in 154 countries. Visitors can attend our Sunday Service, take a free Personality Test, view an introductory film or purchase a book on the subject.

"A maxim in Scientology is that only those things which one finds true for himself are true. In Scientology one learns to think for himself, within limits. It is a voyage of self-discovery. Scientology teaches its adherents how to think properly. Lord Hubbard created the first and only technology of how to study. He discovered the laws on which learning is based and developed workable methods for anyone to apply. He called this subject “Study Technology.” This technology provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study.

"So now that you have gotten a glimpse of some of the basic concepts behind the CoS I will give you a rare opportunity to learn about our core teachings, until recently reserved only for high-ranking CoS members. There are details I am not permitted to share, of course. Still, behold! I give you the story of Xenu, our true Lord.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What were you doing 75 million years ago? Probably not much. Lord Xenu, on the other hand, was a very busy being. He was, in fact, the ruler of a Galactic Confederacy which consisted of 26 stars and 76 planets including Earth, which was then known as Teegeeack. His was a wise and benevolent regime. He was not a bloodthirsty ruler, but at the same time, he understood that for the greater good, sometimes it was necessary to break a few nemblicks.

"The Confederacy was horribly overpopulated, for although they had perfected space travel, they had yet to invent an effective means of birth control. At the time, Lord Xenu was in a very precarious position. Numerous rivals maneuvered to oust him from power. In a brilliant tactical move, Lord Xenu devised a plan to kill two targs with one stone. He created a list of hundreds of billions of names, his rivals among them, and summoned them to appear at government buildings across the Confederacy for tax inspections. When they arrived, they were quickly drugged and placed onboard space planes bound for Teegeeack (Earth). Upon reaching Teegeeack, the prisoners were stacked at the base of volcanoes. Hydrogen bombs were then placed into the volcanoes and detonated. In one stunning stroke, Lord Xenu had eliminated his foul, degenerate foes and at the same time helped to solve the problem of overpopulation that had plagued his beloved subjects.

"The souls of the victims (which we in the CoS call Thetans) were separated from their physical bodies by the detonations and collected by Lord Xenu's followers in massive vacuum devices. They were then forced to watch 3-D movies for 36 days. These movies (called the R6 implant) implanted a number of false memories into the minds of the captive Thetans.

"When the Thetans were released from the theaters, their sense of self was very weak. They clustered in groups of thousands and roamed a prehistoric Teegeeack. They did eventually find hosts. Humankind. Now, every man, woman and child on earth is infested with "Body Thetans" which effect the way we think and perceive the world around us. Only a fully trained CoS adherent can cleanse themselves of these parasites and reach their true human potential.

"Some wonder why Lord Xenu did such a thing. On its surface it seems a monstrous crime. In truth, the Thetan infection was devised by our Lord as a way to test his chosen people. Yes, even 75 million years ago, Lord Xenu foresaw the rise of the Church of Scientology.

"Eventually, due to a treacherous revolt, the noble Lord Xenu was overthrown and imprisoned within a mountain, surrounded by a powerful force bubble fed by an eternal battery. Where this mountain lies is a mystery, although many believe it is on this very planet. A faction within the CoS called the Church of Xenu (of which I am a member - OT lvl III) has made it their mission to locate and free Lord Xenu from his prison, so that he may cleanse this planet of Thetan infestation once and for all and regain his rightful place as ruler of the Galactic Confederacy.

"I hope that this information has helped to clear the air, although I am certain that some will still remain skeptical. There will always be those who refuse to see what is right before their eyes. In time the truth of my words will become clear to all. When Lord Xenu returns, even the blind shall see and bathe in his transplendant light."

luckily, some amazing fellow named Gutch, though presumably not really, had the sense and humor to say this:
"WHAT TENKANI IS TRYING TO TELL YOU IS THAT HIS PHILOSOPHICAL BELIEFS RUN ABOUT AS DEEP AS STAR WARS"

Which Ruby told me to share.

so yeah,
people are insane and I hate them.
