Here are a few pictures from the
United for Peace & Justice march on Washington DC.
We didn't do too well with the picture taking, especially once the march actually got underway. My Mom took all of these because as usual I just forgot to take pictures.
These were taken while the rally was going on and we were walking to the place where we were supposed to meet up with the Buddhist Peace Fellowship people.
These were taken while the rally was going on...and on...and on. At this point I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to end. I think the prayer written on the banner said "May all beings be safe and free from anger, fear, greed, delusion, and all ill-being. May they be at peace"
Finally, the rally ended and the march began. These were taken as the march was just getting started. The little boy sitting on his Dad's shoulders (who's almost cut out of the picture) was holding a sign he made that said "Peace" and had a little drawing...I thought it was the best sign I saw all day.
I'm very glad I went, it was a good experience. I hope it helped send a message to congress and I pray they will block escalation and ultimately stop funding.
