I couldn't have orchestrated it better had I planned it.
Unwittingly, I found myself on an is this a date? last night.
At a party on Friday I was asked what I was doing Saturday night. So, I said, I'm hearing my friend sing at this piano bar on Church street at such-and-such a time. He met me there, we didn't stay (thank god, later I found out my buddy didn't sing until MUCH later).
When out on the street, I decided I REALLY wanted these chicken quesedillas from this pub I haven't been to in months.
Turns out this place is my Cheers.
A friend of mine from Germany choir was smoking on the steps. I haven't seen him in ages on account of the fact that he now lives in Germany. We caught up.
Members of the COC chorus were carolling inside. A few of them recognized me, threw me a book and I joined in.
About six months ago, I used to go to this pub for lunch on a weekly basis because I worked retail around the corner. It so happens two of the waiters that used to work
Thursday lunch hours were working last night, and they were all hugs when the saw me. Our service was stellar.
As we left the pub, I ran into an ex-housemate I also haven't seen in a while who was very happy to see me.
And that's how I was unwittingly popular.
