something old

Morning After

Sweaty hair plastered to my neck
My nose clogged with the sticky sweet smell of love
Vague memories stifled by a dull throb in my head
Tangled limbs
Tangled covers
Your arms squeezing me
My eyes squeezed shut

Sneaking Out

Ready, break.
Ran from your car
Hot from our bodies,
Shivering as the wind chilled my exposed limbs
But the warm vestiges of your mouth, hands
Could not be erased.

Quiet, don't get caught
Padded up the stairs,
Stumbling from fatigue and the warmth of you
Crawled into my bed under crisp new sheets.
Hugged myself,
And remembered you saying my name.
