Pre-Scene 1
( Starts off in a split screen showing the boy on one side and the girl on the other. Both are sitting and in an obvious state of contemplation. Mix up the shots a bit in both but they won't be doing anything but thinking. Then fade to white)
Scene 1
*white screen*
Girl: You see everything in black and white don't you.(laughs)
*fades from white to the scene. A couple is eating in a booth at a diner. They are some of few people there since its pretty late. They sit across from each other and she is eating the food he bought her*
Boy: Maybe.
Girl: Ya'know SOME people will tell you there are shades of grey in every situation.
Boy: Only because people make it that way. Everything doesn't have to be so dramatic... I don't think.
Girl: Well not everyone can be "Mr. decisive" like you!
Boy: They can be though. People just love to complicate things. People should be smarter then that.
Girl: Shut uuuuup. Stop being so elitist! You aren't that hot baby.
Boy: (smiles) You are the only one who calls me hot.
Girl: pfft You think i'd be going out with someone who wasn't? (picks at food) Come on, i have a little thing called "standards''. (looks up across the table and smiles) why is your hot self sitting over there anyways?
Boy: The view
Girl: Ew you just want to watch me eat! sicko
Boy: Just as long as i get to watch you. (grabs her hand) Just as long as it's you.
Girl: (laughs) That was so adorable! But a little creepy baby. (winks at him) Where do you want to go after this?
Boy: I dunno. I think we should go to my place. I'm broke and everything there is relatively free.
Girl: You're out of money already?
Boy: You wiped me out with all this food you ordered.
Girl: Yeah well us fattys need to eat!(takes a bite and smiles)
Boy: P H phat you mean... (smiles back)
Girl: (stops chewing and just stares)
Boy:(smiles more) I love you.
Girl: Yeah yeah i'm done. Let's go!
(they get up and she grabs his arm and cuddles to him as they walk out the door)
*fade to white*
Pre-Scene 2
(Fading back from white we see again a split screen with both of them. This time we find the boy writing in a journal or poetry. Something along those lines. Trying to express his feelings the way he knows how. We see the girl someplace (possible a coffee place or diner) with a friend. The friend is talking a lot more then her since she just really only needed someone else to do the talking. She laughs and converses back but her mind is obviously not really into it. They both look off to the side as if both thinking the same thing. End scene)
Scene 2
*fade from white*
*The scene is set in his room. The lighting is dimly lit and the only thing that can be heard is the spinning of the fan over head. They are lying in his bed. Her in his arms. He is looking up at the ceiling and feeling completely content. She is resting her head on his chest with her eyes closed. Completely uncontent*
Boy: I could never get used to this. (strokes her hair softly)
Girl: O? What do you mean?
Boy: Being with you like this.
Girl: You mean cuddling. Why don' t you just say cuddling?
Boy: I think of it more as being connected.
Girl: Poetically dramatic as always hun. (pats his stomach)
Boy: Sorry i can't help it.
Girl: Nothing to be sorry for. I never said it was a bad thing.
Boy: You never said you liked it either.
Girl: It's you. I love you. See how that works out? (giggles)
Boy: (looks down at her) Since when do you use the "L" word?
Girl: Since now. Duh.
Boy: (smiles) smartass.
Girl: (clenches him harder)
Boy: What's wrong?
Girl: Nothing right now.
Boy: You're quieter. Obviously you're thinking about something.
Girl: I dunno..... It's all just perfect.
Boy: That's the goal isn't it? Love
Girl: Yeah..... (takes a breath)
Boy: (strokes her face softly and smiles) I like knowing that i'll get to do this with you every morning when we wake up. Every morning the sun will hit our window and gently jar our eyes open. Every morning i'll get to hear my baby yawn. And every morning i'll wake up happier then i know i ever thought i could be. (kisses the top of her head)
Girl: (slowly sits up. looks back at him with a confused look. gets up and starts walking out the door)
Boy: Where are you going?
Girl: Away
*fade to white*
Pre-Scene 3
(Split screen still. Now we see the boy walking through a busy sidewalk. The majority of the scene for him will be a single shot with the camera following in front of him. Just watching him watch his surroundings. He won't do any talking. Preferably i want this in slow motion for dramatic effect. We see the girl alone now. She is in her house or room and doing trivial things to pass the time. She walks in front of a mirror and stops. We see her just stare at herself and think. Both Boy and Girl walk off camera. End scene.)
Scene 3
*fade from white*
*The scene is set almost right after the last one. Confused he gets up and walks after her. He finds her sitting on a wall outside staring off into the distance. He walks outside and approaches her. The mood is somber. *
Boy: What was that about?
Girl: I don't know. I really don't.
Boy: That doesn't answer much. Did I say something wrong?
Girl: No. (looks down and studies the floor) It's everything I've always wanted to hear. It's everything I always wanted to feel when I heard it.
Boy: Then why did you leave?
Girl: I didn't want to have that yet. I didn't want it now... (looks up again)
Boy:(leans his back against the wall so they are facing opposite directions) I never figured you as one being afraid of this.
Girl: I never figured you as one being able to give me this.
Boy: I have constantly showed you how much you mean to me. Why are you feeling this way now?
Girl: We are so young baby.
Boy:(Heh's and smiles softly) What's age.
Girl: You know what I mean. We couldn't have experienced everything already. I can't help but feel there is something more.
Boy: You mean something better.
Girl: I don't know what I mean right now.
Boy: You know exactly what you're thinking. Everyone always knows. They just don't want to realize it. (Turns around and looks up at her) Look, babe, any problem you have right now is purely you. You know how and what I feel. I love you. Just tell me what we should do.
Girl: (turns around and looks back at him) You're right. You always are. I know what I'm thinking.... I'm going to walk home. I need to sift through all this. Please, I need some time right now. I'm so sorry. I'll talk to you when I'm ready. (hops off and starts to walk away)
Boy: You're hurting me.
Girl: (stops still with her back to him) I know. (walks away)
Boy: (looks down slowly and stares) .....What just happened...
*fade to white*
Scene 4
*phone rings*
*fade from white*
( We see a split screen again with a close up of the boys mouth on the left side face the right and, the girls mouth on the right side facing the left. The Girl has just called the Boy and the Boy answers the phone.)
Boy: Hey lovely.
Girl: Hey. I'm so (gets interrupted)
Boy: Don't be. Are you ok?
Girl: Yeah, I really am. I've never gotten that weirded out before.
Boy: It happens lovely. I'm glad you didn't make any brash decisions though.
Girl: O, me too. I couldn't imagine myself without you there along for the ride, yaknow? (we see a smile on her face)
Boy: It's quite the ride isn't it? ( We see a smile on his face)
Girl: I just feel really lame knowing that I hurt you.
Boy: The only hurt you give me is when I imagine you aren't mine.
Girl: Dramatic as always! (laughs)
Boy: O I'm the dramatic one here? (laughs back)
Girl: Shut up. So are we ok now baby?
Boy: We're ok now lovely.
Girl: Good! Now come pick me up so you can take me out to eat! My fat self hasn't eaten in a while and I'm staaaarving.
Boy: P H phat you mean? (smiles snugly)
Girl: Wow, I should dump you for that. (laughs)
(pause)
Boy & Girl: I love you.
