Settling in.

I woke up this morning with a soul-shattering headache. I dreamt that I was swimming in a sea of yellow-and-black checkered snakes, and as I was getting out, one of the snakes jumped onto my head and said "If you're not gonna treat me with any respect, you might as well wake up". And, uh, I did. Wonder what that 'respect' stuff meant. And the snake stuff.

Things were pretty awkward over the breakfast table (I use the term "table" loosely, it's basically a wooden raft with support legs) between me and Marco. He kept wanting to know if I slept well, and I kept telling him I did, but he somehow knew I was lying. Maybe it's something only fath... fa... *clears throat* something only people related to each other can pick up. Although I'm still kinda doubting the he's-related-to-me thing.

First of all, we don't look anything like each other. Second of all, we don't act anything like each other. Third of all, he has an affinity for creepy cats. Seriously. He has this really on-edge orangey one that I swear knows what I'm thinking. I went to my temporary room to unpack my things and SatanInCatForm was perched over my bags. He hasn't moved a muscle since.

I met the rest of the crew. Seska seems very nice. Marco seems very nice around her. I wonder if they're involved...? Milton is pretty cool, but kinda scatterbrained. He smells like peppermint a lot.

They told me it was okay that I join them, but that I don't tag along during their "jobs". Which is fine, I guess, but I don't really wanna be stuck on The Phoenix all day everyday.

This whole thing still weirds me out... I mean... I've never thought that much about my family before. But now I'm living with my da... my d... *clears throat* someone I'm related to. And that's trippy.

Aye.
