I came across this quote posted by someone on myocad.com, what this design prof said:
"Design is not the same as art, artists fall in love with their pieces designers can't afford to because we offer a service so it doesnt matter what we think, its what the client likes or what you can convince them they like."
This quote has a lot of truth to it.
