Dude this weekend was great! [despite the 9-hour drive from Champaign, IL back home.]
So basically we went to the location about 10:00 and took some pictures and then waited awhile for the ceremony to start (which was like at 11:30). And I finally got to meet all these people whom I have heard close family members gripe about for 1.5 decades, and other people w/ bizarre, 15th-cousin-type relationships to me.
Anyway, Tanya's very mildly Jewish and her now-husband Kyle is agnostic so they decided to play it safe as far as most member of both families were concerned and have a totally secular wedding, which was cool, especially because one of their friends was ordained specially for their wedding.
Then there was the reception, which was a lot of talking and meeting and 'wasn't that nice'-ing (the only really negative part of the whole thing was the cake, because it was basically birthday cake and I HATE birthday cake.)
And, 2nd-most-importantly, I'm going to Chicago some weekend this summer to hang out w/ cousins! Most excellent, my first solo plane trip.
Oh, yeah, Tanys my cousin; I guess I didn't mention that for everybody that hasn't done intensive research into my lineage.
