fights, WOOH.
mike and i both won, me with a decision and mike with a knockout (finally!). last night was part 1 of the culmination of our brutal training schedule. we've spent our ENTIRE summer training 6 days a week / 2-3 hours a night, it sure as shit payed off. i felt strong as hell and hopefully showed everyone just that. it was a little different than my last fight due to my sweet fracture-master right foot, i didn't throw too many right kicks but i threw more than enough knees to make up for it. only took a few good shots from him, nothing the iron noggin hasn't taken before.
the crowd was decent, our opponents were respectful and the ring girls were doing pretty good. all in all a great night.
huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thank you to all our friends (and family) that shelled out big $$ to come. the best part of my whole night was hearing / seeing my friends screaming bloody murder the whole night. whether it's one friend or twenty, you guys make a huge difference. also thank you to all the friends that couldn't make it but wished us luck, again...a huge difference. we love you friends, we do.
next saturday is philidelphia. 2 years ago, well after i had stopped thai boxing and watched mike for the first time (his second fight), that night i told someone that i was going to get back in it and i would be in that same ring. it was a mix of jealousy and soooo much pride watching one of my good friends get a chance to get his hands taped out back, get into that ring, do the wai kru and ram muay, touch gloves and fight like mad. i love attention and i love fighting therefore the idea of fighting in a ring made me excited to no end.
9/10 months of training, 2 fights later here i am. while it is amateur and while we are still fighting with crappy headgear and shinpads on this - for right now - is the big time for me. i've seen mike fight plenty of times down there, watch how much the philly crowd absolutely hates us so on and so forth...i caaaaaaaan't wait.
