Abz was looking at the sky lost in her own thoughts when she heard someone on the roof. She did not bother to turn round to look at the person. “Go away or I will jump.” Jussi was shaking his head at what was just sad. “You sound just like your Dad when you said that.”
Abz turned to face Jussi with a confused look. “What are you doing up here? I thought you were afraid of heights.” Jussi smiled at Abz. “If it’s a choice between staying inside and losing to your brother or coming onto the roof, I’ll have to go with the roof. Come to think of it I am terrified of heights. What the fuck am I doing up here.” Abz was using a childish voice while speaking to Jussi. “Jussi just swore. He just said the f work.” This had Jussi laughing.
Abz then started to use a serious tone. “There is me thinking it had something to do with my safety?” “There is that as well. Why are you up here? I thought you went out with your Dad and Bam?”
“I did.” Abz starts crying. “I can’t believe he didn’t tell me the truth about Bam being my other Dad. He promised me that he would tell me everything. I hate him. I hate them both.” Jussi sat down next to her and put his arm round her shoulders. “Something’s it better not knowing the truth. Your Dad did it for your own good. He tried to protect you and stop you from getting hurt with not seeing him.”
Abz stood up and moved away. “But it’s all right for him to lie to me about it.” Jussi tried to pull Abz into a hug. “I’m not saying that. Your Dad loves you and he didn’t want to see you getting hurt.” “What did Bam mean when he said he only found out a few weeks ago?” Jussi stood up and open his arms out, Abz went running to him and hugged him. “You have to ask him.”
“Jussi, how did you know where to find me?” Jussi looked to the sky before looking at Abz with a disgraced look. “I didn’t know. I only went up here to get away from your brother.” This had her laughing. “You’re such a baby.” Jussi smiled. “But I’m Jykri baby.” Abz started laughing. “I have no idea what he sees in you.” Jussi pretend to be hurt but couldn’t keep his laughter in. “I have no idea, maybe it’s my looks or my sense of humor.”
Abz just smiled at him. “Yeah, whatever.” Jussi smiled at the look that Abz had which was so like Ville. “You really do sound like your Dad. What are you going to do?”
“Sit up here for a bit longer then go and talk to Daddy.”
“Why are you sitting on the roof?”
“It’s something me and Dad did at night to get away from the people in the house. We just come out on to the roof and watch the starts for hours.”
As soon as Ville got to the house, he rushed to the back yard to make sure Abz is ok. When he got their Jussi came down. “Where is Abz?”
“She is all right and is still on the roof.”
“Thanks for everything.”
“It’s ok but you need to talk to her.
Ville started clamming onto the roof when Ape came out. “VILLE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Bam then stepped in. “Ville you should not be doing this. I thought it was my job to do dumb things”
“I don’t care. I need to make sure my I mean our daughter is all right and she is sat on the roof. She could fall and hurt herself.” Ape looked relived for a moment until she released what was going on. “What do you mean Abz is on the roof. Get her down. It’s dangerous. Anything could happen.” Bam turned to April. “Shut the hell up and let us sort it out. Ville, do you need any help up on the roof?” Ville smiled at Bam “Thanks for your concern and its better if I go on my own Bam.”
