Aquarius: The Once and Future King (drabble??)
Greetings all, permit me if I may to share with you a start to a fantasy fic that sort of appeared one night :p Based around the dreams of Ville in my previous fic Ancient Wounds, (you don't have to have read it for this to make more sense lol)I've written what will probably be a brief little story. Hope you enjoy!

Title: Aquarius: The Once and Future King

Summary: What happens when your entire destiny is thrown off-balance, your duty to your kingdom is compromised and you can be set free by being born the wrong gender.

In every generation there is born a female child who is destined to become heir to the throne of the Imperial Dominion, the empire encompassing the seven heartlands of Scandinavia. This child is a reincarnation of the blessed Queen Aquarius of the first dynasty, a maiden warrior who united the five kingdoms of the north and brought of peace to the two warring countries of the south. With a duty to her kingdom she carries into the world the memories and knowledge of every incarnation before her and acts as the direct link to the wisdom of the original Aquarius; born under different star signs with each generation cycle, such is the strength needed to bare the Aquarius the mother must give her life in the process.
The Aquarius in Scorpio, born once in every twelve generations, always brings trouble. The child is often born small, sometimes weak or sickly. Many do not live long past their sixteenth year and their connection to the original Aquarius is exhausting. There must however be this darkness upon the Imperial city to herald the coming of the Golden age of the Queen in Sagittarius.
Our story begins with the birth of the tenth Queen in Scorpio deep within the glass walls of the Imperial City, 7800 years after the reign of the first Aquarius.
“The infant, Ville isn’t she called, how did the birth progress?”
“Poor woman, that she died and all for what, this misshapen child”
“What are we to do? There has never been a nurse’s record of this mistake in 120 generations of her reincarnation”
“Surely there’s been some sort of mistake?”
“None such luck I’m afraid, she - it-, is the Aquarius in Scorpio, Queen of the seven heartlands and promised to the first born of the King of the western border”
“Gracious, the Aquarius in Libra died not three weeks ago in her sleep , we’ve been without an heir and now this”
“This is going to bring a lot of shame among this house mark my words. In all of my years studying the archives the Aquarius has never been born male”
