God damn, stupid, mother-fucking cunt, Bam thought angrily as he glared at his brother across the dinner table. He wanted to launch himself at Jess for being such a fuck-wit and even suggesting that his Willa was a ‘chick.’

Jess chewed his salad deliberately slowly and returned Bam’s glare.

Ville looked from one brother to the other, shrugged and turned back to his food.

April and Phil noticed all this, but decided to say nothing.

Dinner finished in an unusual silence. Jess, in a hurry to leave to the room, offered to clean up all the plates, ushering everyone else out into the living room as he went.

Ville turned to Bam. “Well, it could have been worse.”

Bam nodded. “Yeah.” Only, I don’t see how. He turned to his mother. “Mom, I have something to tell you and dad. You’d both better sit down.”

“…You’re gay?” Phil’s voice was full of disbelief and admiration.

April smiled. “Oh, honey, I’m so glad you trust us enough to tell us this.”

Ville turned to Bam, pure happiness and praise was etched into his voice. “Bam, you told them… I don’t get it. Why’d you tell them?”

Bam took Ville’s hand. “I knew I loved you before I met you. I just wanted them to know. They’re my parents, Willa, they need to know these things.”

“I’m so proud of you,” Ville whispered.

“We’re all proud of you,” April said, grinning.

Bam had tears in his eyes. He had been accepted. He had been accepted for who he truly was and no-one could take that from him.

He had his Willa, he had his family, he had his friends.

For once in his life, Bam Margera was content.
