I know I said this would be smut, but I don't think smut would really fit in with the theme of this fic. Sowwy.
Oh, and Linde can play piano (as this is AU)
Previous Chapters: are at my journal That Way

Burton locked the bathroom door and lent his head on the cool tiles. He loved Eicca, really he did, but maybe, just maybe, he still had feelings for Linde.

~Flashback~
Burton’s skilled fingers wandered across the piano’s keys. He was attempting to write the piano part for a song the band had been composing the day before. He hummed the notes that Ville would sing during the song and began to fit the piano part around the notes.
“You know our sacred dream won’t fail…” Burton sang the first line of the chorus unconsciously.
“You have a good voice,” said a quiet voice behind him.
Burton whipped around. Linde was sitting on the couch, a serene smile playing across his lips.
“How long have you been there?” Burton asked, surprised.
Linde smirked. “Long enough to hear you singing. Also long enough to tell you that what you’re playing isn’t right.”
Burton rolled his eyes. “How about you attempt to write a piano part?”
Linde got up off the couch and moved to sit next to Burton. “Let me show you how it’s done.”
Linde’s fingers moved deftly across the piano’s keys. Burton watched in amazement as Linde’s melody floated and filled their small apartment with sweet music.
The melody faded and Linde blushed profusely. “So, yeah, that seems about right…”
Burton gaped. “You never told me you could play piano…”
Linde looked at his feet. “I’m not that good…”
Burton looked sceptical. “You’re really good. Like, amazing. You’re phenomenal.”
Linde chewed his lower lip and got up to leave, but a strong hand on his wrist stopped him. Linde turned back to Burton.
“I never said I wanted you to stop.” Burton released Linde’s wrist.
Linde sat back down and smiled shyly at him. “I love you. You know that, right?”
Burton smiled gently and nodded. “Yes. I love you too.”
~End Flashback~

Burton sighed and shook his head. Eicca had been right. He was still in love with Linde. There was nothing he could do about it, either.
“I just wish it didn’t have to be this way,” the keyboarder muttered as he unlocked the bathroom door and went to find Eicca.
