Chapter 16: Bam's House Pt.1

English was a fun lesson. It turned out that Brandy was a complete genius, knowing the answer to every question their teacher asked. Also, flicking through his book, Ville realized he was also very good at the written stuff too. He was especially descriptive when writing from imagination, which he admired. Ville was glad to be seated in front of Craig and Brandy, since Craig would throw a note folded into the shape of a paper plane every five seconds and they would always make him laugh. He also didn't mind that Brandy was using the back of his chair as a footrest. He felt sorry for the blonde, since having such long legs couldn't always be a good thing.

As they were walking to their next class - History - Ville decided to ask the question that was burning into the back of his mind.

"How come you're such a genius, Brandy?" Surely it wasn't natural genius? Brandy smiled.

"Well, you see, I guess I study hard, you know…" He said quietly, cheeks flushing slightly pink. Craig giggled.

"I swear he's read like, every book in existence! He even knows most - if not all - of Shakespeare's work." Ville raised his eyebrows. "He wants to get good grades, y'see."

"Oh? There a particular reason for that?" Brandy smiled again.

"I dunno, I'm kinda hoping that, well… I kinda want to be a teacher." Ville was mildly surprised. "I mean, none of my siblings have done anything with their lives - my eldest sister is still trying to be a model, my brother wants to be an actor and is failing badly, and my other two sisters failed to get into Uni. I guess my parents are looking to me for success."

"That's totally unfair. That's like… if you screw up, they'll act like you've disappointed the entire family and stuff." Craig said. Ville nodded.

"He's right. They shouldn't be putting that much pressure on you." Brandy shrugged and then grinned.

"It's cool. I don't really think of it that way. I want to get good grades so I can make a difference to kids like me, get them a good education, you know? And besides, how can I get all nervous and stuff when I have Carter? He's like… the anti-venom to my parents' poison." Ville laughed.

"Nice metaphor."

"Hey, Ville?" Craig suddenly cut in. "You're about to get tackled." Sure enough, a second later and there was a shorter, brunette boy attached to his waist.

"What do your parents feed you, seriously? You're always wired." Ville laughed. Bam grinned at him.

"I've always been like this! It's how I got my name. I was always running into things you know. Then my family gave me my nickname, cause it was like, I was perfectly fine one second, and then BAM I'd ran into a wall." Ville covered his ears with his hands as Bam continued to ramble on, much to the amusement of both Craig and Brandy. Bam finally stopped talking and turned to Craig.

"Where's lover boy?" He asked bluntly. Craig grinned.

"He's in a different class, remember Bam-Bam? But I'll see him soon!" He replied. Then the grin faded. "Uh oh, Gavin alert." They all turned to look at Gavin who was strolling towards them. If he had been intending to make any remark as he passed them, he was unable to do so, as a booted foot appeared from behind the lockers and tripped him. As he fell face-first onto the floor, Alex appeared from behind the lockers, laughing.

"Ah, that never gets old." She walked casually over to them, still smirking. "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Hey look, I think I made him cry!" She leant against the wall, a devious grin on her face. "He's so fun to mess with." Ville realized then that he hadn't seen Alex recently.

"Where've you been?" He asked her. She turned her eyes to him.

"Class, duh." She replied.

"Alex takes different classes than us, Ville. She's just come from her Forensics class." Craig explained. That sure would explain why she's never in my classes.

"Forensics?" He questioned.

"Yeah. I take some pretty weird classes. Like now, I have my Law class. It's all part of a plan, y'see. If I take Forensics, then I can cover up after a murder pretty easy since I'll know what to look for and such. And if I take Law, if I do ever get caught, I know how to defend myself." Alex spoke as if it were an everyday conversation you'd have with a neighbor over the hedge, or on the street. If it was possible, she scared Ville even more.

"I doubt you'll ever get caught Lexi." A new voice put in. Ville turned to see Carter walking over. Alex's eyes darkened.

"I didn't ask your opinion on the subject." Instantly she moved away from the wall and walked away from them. After a few paces she turned and looked over her shoulder at him. "And my name is Alex." She stalked off around the corner and was lost to sight. Carter sighed heavily.

"What the hell was that about?" He asked the others. No one could answer. "Oh well. You coming Brandy?" Brandy nodded and took Carter's hand. "We'll catch you guys later!" The two of them walked down the corridor and went into a different room.

"We'd better get in class, before our teacher has a fit about us being late." Craig said, pushing open the door they were stood near. Ville followed, with Bam still partially attached to his waist.

Ville didn't really pay attention in the lesson, due to being sat next to Bam. The hyperactive skater was rambling on in a hushed voice about practically anything that came to mind, and it was amusing Ville to no end. He had to stop himself from laughing out loud at one point. Towards the end of the lesson, Bam changed subject drastically.

"Hey, you know what, you should come to my house! Yeah, that'd be so awesome! We can watch movies and stuff, and it'll be so cool!" He grinned.

"Er, sure… I guess." Ville replied with a laugh. In truth he was actually rather nervous about going to Bam's house, but he wasn't going to let some stupid nerves get in the way of what could be a really great night.

"Awesome! It's gonna be amazing! Ape and Phil already like you, and Jess thinks you're alright. Oh, and you're going to LOVE my cats Trouble and Mischief!"

"Um, I'm kinda allergic to animal fur." He pointed out. Bam's grin didn't fade.

"That's alright, they're usually too lazy to bother new people when they come to the house. I'll just take them away if they come too close. But they're sweet! And I have a dog too, but he mostly just sleeps and drools." Ville found himself laughing quietly at Bam's overly hyperactive rambling. He secretly wondered what Bam would be like after a few energy drinks. Or a few beers. The results could be very interesting. A ball of paper hit Bam in the side of the head and dropped softly onto the desk in front of him. He turned around to glare at Craig, who was grinning three desks away, and one row behind. "Idiot. Every lesson. He's a good shot though. He never misses." Ville had to agree. He'd learnt first-hand that Craig had good aim. The paper plane that had landed expertly in the curls on the very top of his head had proved that. As he watched Bam throw the paper ball back at Craig - and miss - he couldn't help but think that he and Jude had something else in common.

They both had hyperactive boyfriends.

He smiled when he realized he'd classed Bam as his boyfriend. Although it wasn't properly official yet, that's how he saw him. He laughed again when the paper ball hit Bam right between the eyes.

"Curse you Hudson, and your excellent aim!" He watched the ball fly back and forth, amused at how Bam missed every time. Yet he was determined to hit Craig, and wouldn't give up until he did so. He came close on the next throw, but Craig ducked just in time and the ball merely skimmed the top of his crimson spikes. He leaned across behind the girl sat next to him to pick up the ball and proceeded to hit his head on the cupboard behind him on the way back up. The girl stifled a laugh. "Did you see that? Classic!" Bam giggled to him. Ville grinned.

"It's all that hair dye. Seeps into his brain." He replied, causing Bam to laugh even harder.

"Dismissed." The teacher barked suddenly, and Bam leapt to his feet, knocking over his chair in the process. Laughing, Ville stood up in a more controlled manner. They met with Craig outside the room, and he gracefully threw the paper ball at Bam once more.

"Well that was an interesting lesson. I think I paid attention for about… five minutes?" Craig laughed.

"Five minutes? You're getting sloppy Patch." Bam grinned. "I think it was two and a half for me." The familiar sound of rolling wheels came from behind them, and Alex ground to a halt beside them.

"Yo." She said simply. Ville glanced down at the skateboard, wondering where it had come from. "My locker, Ville. I always keep a spare here, for when AD and I want to film me beating strangers over the head with it." Ville didn't know what to be more surprised about - the comment about the filming, or the fact that she'd known what he was wondering.

"Yeah, Alex does a lot of that stuff, it's really funny! Sometimes we all join in and do crazy stuff in public. Like shopping carts, for example. You get in one, and someone pushes you into a sidewalk or something and you go flying out!" Bam laughed. "We think it's really fun. I so want to have a show with just us doing stuff like that."

"Hey, maybe you will one day, Bam." Alex smirked. "I'd watch it." Bam grinned at her.

"Excellent! That's one viewer already! Yay!" He turned to Craig. "By the way, Ville is staying at my house tonight." Craig looked at Ville, who nodded.

"Oh, awesome. Well that's good cause Jude's staying over after we go out tonight and… well…" Craig blushed. "I think it might be the night." Ville looked confused, so Alex translated.

"Meaning he thinks he'll be sleeping with him tonight." Craig swiftly punched her arm, his face flushing more.

"Shut up!" He hissed, embarrassed. Bam grinned.

"Won't it be your first time together?" He asked. Alex laughed.

"It'll be his first time, full stop." If it was possible, Craig turned even redder. "Hey, I'm sorry Patchy. It was something that had to be said. You know me, I don't miss an opportunity like that." Craig sighed.

"Yeah, I know Lexi. Still… it's embarrassing." Ville stepped in.

"It shouldn't be." Craig looked at him in surprise. "Well, you're going to be with the one you love, and you've been saving yourself for him. I think that's real sweet." Craig smiled.

"Aww, thanks Ville!" As Craig leapt upon him and threw his arms around him, Ville wondered if he was ever going to get used to being hugged at random.

Hope you liked it! Oh, and I don't know if those are Bam's cats real names, but that's what I remember. Also, I've forgotten the name of Bam's dog, cause I have the memory span of a doorknob. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thankies! - Patchy xXx
