Vam Prompt # 081 - Sleep
I believe someone once said, ‘To Sleep is to dream,’ though I could be wrong. Sleeping is a release; is a vacation from the normal world, because in dreams almost anything could happen. I love sleeping, it’s calm, it’s relaxing, and time passes so much slower, or so it seems. Like I could fall asleep on the couch for what would seem like hours, and I’ll wake up, and according to the clock, it’s only been two minutes.
Sometimes sleep seems like the only answer, to get away from the world and sleep forever would be sweet release. It’s just such a nice feeling to go to sleep, snuggled up all warm inside the blankets, a fluffy pillow under my head, the fan quietly whirring in the background, and then to drift into dreamland for hours.
My dreams lately have been filled with visions of you. One dream I had a few nights ago was that I was in one of those fun house things in an amusement park, you came to get me, I was scared and clasped our hands together, you whispering thoughts of encouragement in my ear as we tried to escape it; and that’s all I remember before I awoke. A weird example of a dream, I know.
It only exemplifies how much my mind has been thinking of you though. Everywhere I turn, visions of your sapphire eyes haunt me. I could be at the grocery store, picking up a few basic things, and I’ll suddenly think of you. I think I love you more than words could actually tell.
Only when I’m sleeping and in dreams cold I tell you this. For only the unreal things that happen in dreams could possibly show you how much I love you.
